Entry-level, decent component Hi-Fi system

Thanks for the help.. Would you mind explaining how to go about setting up the network?

Thanks again for the info.. Will give it a bash once I get the receiver and router.

One more q - streaming music from the laptop/iPhone to receiver does not use data does it?

Just purchased the jamo marantz combo from dion :D unfortunately they r out of stock so will have to wait a week or two for delivery... :(

Quite chuffed tho as individually they are selling for R17800 and I pickd it up for R10k :D

Now to find a tv and blu ray player to match... ;)

Awesome choice dude.... Awesome.. you will LOVE it (when you finally get it)

Those Jamos bang. Be sure to fork out a little for the sub, it really does make a difference. The difference between the S506 and S416 is definitely noticeable, and the S416 is already a great set.

Awesome choice dude....

Haha, who is to say I am a "dude"? ;) thanks I am sure I am goin to enjoy it! Will buy a sub after the tv and blu ray player.. I am moving to my own place soon and hav always wanted a decent home theatre setup.

After reading some of these threads I fear asking advice on a 3D tv... so I have just been doing some research and ultimately will test them out and go with gut feeling and what suits my budget... Out of interest though, is it advisable to go with tv and bd player from the same brand? Or will any good brand for either do?

any good brand for either will do...

esp since you will route them all through your fancy new marantz Amp :)

I absolutely love my Jamo S416 setup coupled with my Sony D510. Best R7k I ever spent.

Anyone who tells you that you can't get a decent setup for R10k is talking manure :D

If you have the same brand, then one remote can usually control both the dvd/bd and tv with one remote.

Dudette would be correct! ;)

I am looking at LG for my tv and bd player... That would be a decent enuf brand?

A female with great AV taste? Nice ....

I'd personally go Samsung with both. LG black levels aren't quite in the same league. Although it's not a bad TV, I feel the Samsung is better. The LG does seem to have a better GUI, model for model though
