Escape from Tarkov | Battlestate

Am I right in thinking that to play the Beta one has to pre-purchase the game?
Are the higher tier options worth the extra cost? Is a larger backpack that valuable?

I play on a standard account. I just sell most things I loot. I consider the traders and flea market to be my stash at a premium :p Smaller stash doesn't bug me much, plus it can be upgraded in the hideout (though not easily, takes some work and progress). Smaller alpha container also doesn't bug me much. I use it to keep my keys safe (carry a key ring or two) and maybe some meds.

You can also get specialty containers that extend your stash space, though can only contain certain item types. i.e. Weapons Case, Ammo Box, Lucky Scav Container (Junkbox basically, but some junk is valuable)

Good morning. Just want to find out, are there a lot of SA players still playing this and is it worth getting into currently?

I don't play anymore. I'm taking a break for 2 wipes before getting back into it.

There's an SA FB group where you will be able to get an idea of how active it is:

I know that when things quiet down a bit, there's a rotating nominated PvP map for people who want more action.

Whenever I play I queue up pretty quick on local so I assume there's still many SA players. The game is still as popular as ever as far as I can tell and seems to have a long future ahead. It's pretty much best in class with its style of play. With the pending and highly anticipated Streets of Tarkov map release still to happen it will probably get even more people onboard.

But be warned, it's not really a "game". It's stressful, slower paced and rewarding in its own way but you don't really chill out with Tarkov IMO. You usually game to take a break from Tarkov lol.

I remember when everyone was stressing so much about battle royale like PUBG a few years ago when that was new, and even then they were tame compared to Tarkov. I played those to break from Tarkov :D

Jeez. Still not close to 1.00.0 release?

It's weird because the game feels "complete" in a way even now. There is no sense of feature loss. Everything they do really just feels like more content and meta changes at this point, and of course major patch wipes (which the communities and streamers actually seem to love rather than hate).

But the final product might still be miles different to what we have now. No idea when it will get to version 1 :/

Thanks for the replies! I think I'm going to pick up this game. Hahaha laughed about the stressful experience. That is fine, used to get the same feeling waaay back when playing dayz and similar with solo's on Warzone.

Anybody playing this? I just got it today and would be keen to play with someone.

Why is it that so many people sell their accounts after some time?
It looks amazing, but I get the feeling it runs its course? Can one finish the game or whats the story?

They wipe the servers and reset all progress about once every 6 months. I guess you "finish" it once you have all the high level gear, some of which you can only get by completing certain quests, which can be difficult and grindy.
A possible reason why people sell accounts is that it's still pretty expensive. Also, which games don't run it's course?
I've played it longer and enjoyed it more than PubG or Battlefield. I played one "season", took two off, and will play again after the next wipe. After playing this, I have absolutely no interest in Battlefield, CoD, PubG, or any other realistic-ish multiplayer shooter.
Nothing beats the feeling of having good stuff in your inventory, everyone in your squad being wounded and trying to exrtract while knowing there are players just waiting to ruin your day.

Play it and add me dammit. I need a mentor, keep getting my ass whipped :D

When you attempt to be an anti-cheat advocate and the cheat devs use it to their advantage,

also, it doesn't seem that they have been arrested as some within the Tarkov community make it out to be.

It is crazy atm. I stopped playing due to this crap. There has always been cheaters in the game but it feels like this last wipe things have escalated to crazy levels.

So, how are we all feeling this morning gents?
After news of yet another tier costing $250, reportedly PTW and adding offline PVE COOP which was supposed to be released for the EOD edition?

Great thing is, SPT can now take the source code from offline and add co-op to their game. I think I might even give it a try.
