Eskom - BEE to blame

You are to liberal! Abuse is what all of us do everyday, whether you pay for it (cheaply) or not. Stop wasting. The president of South Africa demanded so, thus heed the instruction or suffer at your own peril.

I just want to know what your definition of 'Abuse' is... Its a sliding scale and open for interpretation. Leaving lights on? Pool pump? running a buisness from home?

Running a pool pump is not abuse to a person who owns a pool, but to a person that doesnt have a pool its a waste of energy.

Who defines what 'Abuse' is.

My wife is about to start her own nursery school up - and I expect power usage to rise, which is normal.

So tell me that it's abuse and I'll tell you otherwise.

Zuma will fix what was not broken anyway. Wait and see. If you do not like it here MOVE on. We live better now than ever before. At least now we have power. In the old days we had none.

You are dead right here - the only way Zuma could fix anything is if it was not broken to begin with. He might "fix" it though, which I do not look forward to experiencing.

And for the record, I as a white man do not live "better now than ever before". I am totally against apartheid and racism, however I didnt have to worry that my laser beams were on in my house before I left; I didnt have to stop smoking in my car because I am afraid to drive with the window open again; I didnt have to tint my windows to protect myself and my passengers; Nigeria was a place that existed outside of South Africa; my sister would still be alive and wouldnt have been raped and tortured by a bunch of monsters because she was white, I can go on. F U - stop playing the Fking race card - it just fuels the divide in this country you twit.

Why? Did they get on the job training by the whites they replaced or was they just ignored out of spite. Look in your own closet before blaming AA and BEE for your own deficiencies. BEE or AA was not and is not to blame. The spiteful racists that left who sabotaged the systems is to blame.

Well they should have been capable in the first place to get the job. But lets say they are not capable and require on the job training. These racist whites you are referring to were FIRED, LET GO, or RETRENCHED. What did you expect them to do - come back in their own spare time to train the guys who replaced them because they didnt know what they were doing?

Who sabotaged what? Please explain...

BEE and AA have helped our country diddly squat because neither were implemented correctly. As a BEE compliant business owner, I can assure you that 5/10 non white appointments that we make are based on compliance and not ability. That person is trained for a considerably long time before they are handed responsibility. They also dont know that their appointments were based on colour and not ability, therefore they would argue just like you are at the moment about the merits of AA. They wouldnt however blame the old government of 14 years ago now for the mistakes of the current regime - they are much smarter than that. My black business partner is sitting next to me reading this and reckons you are what is wrong with South Africa - too many black people being brainwashed by what they hear on local radio, in church and in the townships etc and then spurting black on white racism back into our country. He also reckons racial power like AA and BEE makes you racist as evidenced by apartheid, and believes that our current regime has let power get to its head - read into that what you like..

Guys seriously - ignore the troll.

For the record: a troll is someone who argues by shouting the loudest, and belittling people the most. A troll never has a rational argument, a sturdy platform, or a well thought out opinion. He merely disses all and sundry.

Why would anyone that do not own a pool run a pump, unless of course he is an motivated Afrikaner waiting for his better times to return.

Abuse is using power unnecessary. Like running your pump for 12 hours if 6 would be sufficient. If you bath in lots of hot water when a bucket would do, unless you stink of course. Using light at night for security just because you are scared or a sissy.

Why is it that all of you when you disagree with a posters viewpoint call those that disagree a troll? So that would make by definition you a troll too, from my viewpoint.

Evidently you have no idea what is being discussed here. Maybe you should stop before you foot is permanently lodged in your mouth.

Why should I not enjoy a nice long hot bath? I pay for the water and the electricity to heat the water. I work hard for my money to enjoy the luxuries that I can afford. Whereas your buddies in government and parliament do sweet jack for the same priviledge. I doubt they are bathing in a bucket's worth of water!

Would you have us all stop using flushing toilets and rather taking bosk@ks, as well?

But Moederloos is right: stop feeding the troll. /ignore

You already brainwashed your partner. Shame he must be one of those benefiting to much from your mutual relationship or is it one of those thousands of front cases?

yeah... Tell it to them brother! about time they all learnt how to rest of the people live. Electricity is a luxury that should not be taken for granted.

Hehe, just thought of something: doesn't that definition apply to most MPs and ministers?

WTF? Are you even listening to yourself? How would an Afrikaner running a pool pump without a pool, ensure a return of "his" better times?

Hehehe, I couldn't rap my head around that one either... Logic has left the building! :D

Tell that to the gold mines

@mechristian

You see how stupid I sounded just by agreeing to your argument. :D Try forumulate a thought of your own and not recite mass propoganda messages that you are hearing from the media.

I know its hard... but think about it for a while... use LOGIC, not hysteria.

They have been told. year and years of exploiting people are coming back to bite them in this electricity fiasco. They are part of the problem.

I see a major problem when you tell the cornerstone of your economy (gold mines) that electricity supply is a luxury. Wouldnt you agree?

The arguement here is that steady supply of electricity has never been a problem until now. When you look at the reasons as to why it is a problem, you realise that government having been forewarned did not act and really screwed things up for us.

We in SA love the blame game - its a pity it never ends up pointing the finger in the right direction though. Blaming (or part blaming) the mines is illogical. They had no direct or indirect influence over electricity supply in SA so they are certainly not part of the problem.

And blaming the old govt as some have here is also illogical. I get upset about those accusations not because I supported what they did, but because it is the constant scapegoat for those who dont understand that the current govt is responsible for what happened post 1994. That was 14 years ago!
