Unfortunately privatization by its very nature dictates that he who has the deepest pocket will always hog everything, isn't that what free markets thing you were talking of is all about?

Do you now want government to ban billionaires from IPPs or how do we keep them out?

Free market as in support the moms and pop shops and not big corporations that can lobby the politician.

It's not exactly free markets if it's being dictated who they should support, is it? You need regulation if you want to support moms and pops shops but if the government does that people also moan.

I am totally with you on this but you have to realize that even at moms and pops level there are going to be different levels of moms and pops, and the ones on the higher level will be wanting to hog everything so that the ones at the bottom are not getting anything, they will be the moms and pops billionaires the same way Motsepe and the others are.

No matter how you look at it, the only way to protect the ordinary moms and pops on the street is government regulation.

Equal opportunity for all is all I'm saying, not just the billionaires with the minister on speed dial. The only regulation that I would approve of is to get rid of monopolies.

No, independent regulation. This eliminates any conflict of interest while ensuring a competitive market for all.

Government regulation gives rise to monopolies that scratch government's back to keep the status quo going...
