Very flattered that you value my opinion so much, here it is, the pensioners have offered their services in good faith and were declined, they should now enjoy their retirement or go offer their services to the City of Cape Town if they still feel like they want to work.

Such a bad depressing take, could it possibly be that -some- people still value the success of the country to such a degree that they're willing to work for free regardless?

That seems to be the case, but hey, let's rather politicise it and shrug it off like a case of bad covid hat has to go to the place where the people that you don't like supposedly congregate.

De Ruyter has just explained why he cannot have pensioners working for free at Eskom, no matter how noble their intentions are. If they still feel like they have something to offer, go do it where you are wanted, simple as that.
