Eskom CEO Andre de Ruyter's impressive performance

However, I do think Andre is a d00s sometimes... a few months ago in an article, he mentioned that people with solar panels + inverters are using "eskom" as a plugin for when they don't have sun, which is why they should be charged extra... but in reality, it's the other way around... most people wouldn't have solar panels if Eskom could just provide reliable power. always bloodyfucking victimising themselves.
Also a lot of those people have batteries.

To be honest... It needs to be a 2 way street though...

Eskom wants to charge people more to use power if they have a solar system, then Eskom needs to pay more for feeding back into the grid when those people have excess capacity.

....there is an energic consequence to everything, that we do as individuals..., let just say, that our collective detour into Apartheid caused an imbalance ... the Zuma years were but a manifestation of energies being balanced... whether you or I like it, our not... it was a required detour, ...

Excellent work by De Ruyter!

See what happens when you aren't a dyed-in-the-wool ANC comrade like Molefe et al.

Such brilliance. You see, all you need to replicate it is to be a monopoly, and then increase the price of your product by 15%.

Eskom is behaving exactly like the textbook monopoly. Increasing price for decreasing quality of the product. You know, which the competition commission ignores because Burger King being owned by a white person is far more important.

So it’s clear that the anc / Eskom’s raison d’etra is a cadre employment / deployment scheme, with generating electricity, to further economic growth, an irrelevant secondary concern?

Figures, that’s how the anc’s mindless adherence to communism “rolls”!

I fully agree, just like his comment that current rates charged to customers don't reflect costs but ignores that costs are bloated due to over staffing, inefficiencies, corruption, mismanagement, etc. I think he is doing an OK job thus far considering he inherited a rotten culture with years of mismanagement.

No, fck'em all. They are all equally fckning useless. If they did their jobs we wouldn't have load shedding. Bunch of ball-/brainless idiots.

After being on a power station and mostly being hamstrung by the internal politics, I have a lot of respect for the people that work hard to keep the lights on.

Yeah, I know might've been a bit harsh, this constant loadshedding is just moerse annoying. That is still applicable to the fools in charge though.

Most of Eskom's coal fired plants are supposed to be mothballed they're so old. They should have been renewed years ago if they meant to keep them. Unfortunately it looks like even the new ones were built of paper.

De Ruyter said they have a multi-pronged approach to reduce Eskom’s debt further.

  • Increase revenue through electricity tariff increases.
Uhm, yeah. Not going to put myself through this to pay off debt accumulated through corruption. As soon as my new place is registered, the solar panels are going up.

For all the praise he is getting, we are the ones bearing the brunt of it. Not the bloated workforce and not the culprits who still haven't been prosecuted...

we now at stage 4, probably only going to get worse, but lets congratulate this guy on not being as bad as the others

In the past we had stage 4 AND growing debt at Eskom. Under De Ruyter we have stage 4 and shrinking debt.

It's not much but at least it's something...

we also have large industrial area's that eskom said were exempt from loadshedding schedules, in the dark at the moment
