Just saw in another article here on MyBB something about the infrastructure that has been built 20 years ago - so guess what - apartheid's **** again :)

Generator didn't want to start either, eventually got it going but had to shutdown servers while I did so and now Windows decided it's going to update. :mad:
 
Don't stress folks, faith will cause the silo to rebuild. It will stand and walk like all the others.

There needs to be a national crisis meeting called to expedite the framework to allow general private sale of power back to the grid. The time for talking is over.

If the regulator had this in place already, we could have dozens of smaller units converting today's lovely sunshine into usable power, and fewer people being affected by the shedding.
 
It just shows how on a knife edge Eskom is, when one power station has an issue the entire country goes dark!

You're going to need a lot of PVs to replace Majuba's 4GW...

Considering that Eskom has a total of just over 41000MW, of which 12000MW is under maintenance (scheduled and unscheduled), you can imagine what a loss of (currently) 1800MW does to it.
