Eskom power cuts this weekend as cold front rolls in

Eskom has announced that Stage 2 load-shedding will be implemented between 17:00 and 22:00 on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, the 21st and 22nd of May 2022.

The power utility had previously expected to run load-shedding until Friday. However, there is still a substantial shortage of generation capacity, resulting in Eskom having to extend the power cuts.

I don't know what constitues a national emergency, but this kinda seems like one to me.
I'd say we should send in the military, but then again at this point I won't even be surprised if the one working Ratel we have left is busy carrying copper and troglodytes whille running on cooking olive oil.

Getting harder and harder to not have some form of backup nowadays.
Using a UPS helps you.
Only minimally helps Eskom.
As soon as your load shedding rotation is over, you draw extra from the grid to charge the UPS.
UPS + Solar is is the best way to go.

Last time I check sun doesnt work after hours in my area so my solar is useless
Last time I checked, solar shines during the day, solar charges battery during the day, then you use the battery at night:

Here are my stats:

Since installation in Nov 2021, have not suffered an outage during load shedding.
