Yeah, but doesn't need to be as harsh as stage 4 according to my calculations.

Without diesel eskom can't ramp up power if need to be, my guess is they need keep spare capacity this way don't have to worry about grid getting anywhere near maxed.

Not enough diesel to bulk up the shortfall.

Internet backup and gas cooking caters for the essentials. Rest is a bonus really.
