Last time I checked, solar shines during the day, solar charges battery during the day, then you use the battery at night:

Since installation in Nov 2021, have not suffered an outage during load shedding.

Well clearly you talking about Off grid and not just solar on UPS

Cause power goes off in evening and mostly returns at 22h00 where the UPS will start charging, by the time the sun is up it would be charged already ie: making you Solar comment null.

How many batteries (or rather how many kwh in your batteries)?
I can barely get to 65% solar vs grid - then again we quite heavy on power use.

Eskom power cuts this weekend as cold front rolls in

Eskom has announced that Stage 2 load-shedding will be implemented between 17:00 and 22:00 on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, the 21st and 22nd of May 2022.

The power utility had previously expected to run load-shedding until Friday. However, there is still a substantial shortage of generation capacity, resulting in Eskom having to extend the power cuts.

Not off grid, I have a 20kWh whole home UPS connected to solar PV.
Use grid when it rains for a whole day.
