Here I am replying to that post, saying that if they did (cancel their trips here) it would be embarrassing, because an article that I found states that a million tickets had already been returned unsold by sponsors (who use them in making up travel packages for fans etc) and football associations. If people then go and cancel their plans on top of that, it could look very bad.

Now perhaps you could enlighten me, and explain to me where my reading comprehension went awry. It seems to me, either way, the article says "almost a third of the 3.7million available seats remain unsold" ten weeks out. My comprehension worked just fine. Yours, in your blind rose glassed defence of the country, seems to have gone slightly awry though.
 
I shudder to think what will happen in the coming years after the soccer world cup... when the world isnt watching us any more..

This is irrelevant. Others have brought up the AWB’s small support base. Maybe it won’t only be AWB supporters. There is a danger that things are so out-of-control in SA that there is the risk of a fearful and frustrated population (black & white) following a right-wing demagogue, not because they swallow some neo-apartheid ideology but simply because they want a more competent government (rather snipe at a right-wing government in a working country). There have been HUGE sacrifices made in the name of democracy (which could be wasted if precipitate action was taken). Many have put-up with a lot of sh*t in the last few years. I would imagine that the camels back is pretty close to breaking. Maybe this incident of thuggish savagery is the trigger. Normal people will probably say “F**k it! (the ballot box). This has got to stop, let the cards fall where they may”.

Clearly white supremacists do not adhere to the concept of neighborly love (as Christ informed us to do) and yet proclaim to be "Christians".

I don't buy that anyway. If they murdered him because of money, why didn't they take anything??

Why did they turn themselves in? Because they got paid to do it and was told that they won't go to jail???? Time will tell.
 
After Mandela, the ANC starting creating more and more of a "us versus them" mentality eg The recent, "Whites are to blame for lack of service delivery" statement, etc, etc. The majority of whites were happy to live in a rainbow nation, but we now have racial tensions which have been fostered by the ANC. A missed opportunity to create a rainbow nation. We are moving into more and more of a racially hostile political climate - the path the ANC has made forward will be irreversible.

I am especially narked about #9. One of my sons got his school colours for musketry (shooting) in grade 8. He was in the last cohort of students before the school shooting team was disbanded His colours were quite a rarity because the means of getting them didn’t exist any longer. He traded on this for the rest of his school career.



#10 Etc. And so on.

+1 There is no way there can be a war wiithout a terrible price. The rest of the world will do nothing, we will be massacred. Look at the support the farmers in Zimbabwe got.? Nothing. If you can leave, leave now. There is no logical alternative.
