Everything we know about DStv's streaming service

No question! Also, anyone paying for dstv premium while sporting events are cancelled on such a large scale really have way too much money...
Or perhaps that is their way of doing their part to ensure the salaries are paid, and the blow to the economy is cushioned?

Any article published in the meantime that I missed with regards to pricing update?

I cancelled DSTV a year before I even got Netflix. I decided then to watch old DVDs instead of the reruns on DSTV. I watch sports at the local pub. That was that. No more DSTV, ever.

For others who are not as stubborn as I am, or as unforgiven: DSTV cannot be more expensive than the competition (without ads!!), plus a sport package for, say R99 pm. It's called free market. The gravy train has left.

Cancelled my dstv subs last week with no sport on and likely none on for some months so now it's not worth it and I get free UK tv on the internet and if you do your homework you really only need dstv for 6 months of the year as it's all repeats showing as we are seeing right now with all our extra telly viewing! All the BBC/ITV/CHANNEL 4/5 progs you see on dstv are free on the internet so with a Netflix sub you're covered and once sport starts again I'll get an IPTV sub that covers the sports I watch

End of March they said huh? It was all a hoax, a premature April Fools joke. No standalone streaming service is forthcoming... ever!

It will, but with no Sport happening, going to be a very tough sell, right now. Besides, they are changing their app, too often, so it not ready for showtime.

anyone heard any more news on this........................

I guess they are waiting for Sport to start again, so that they can justify asking a fortune for the service

Im sure this question has been asked a million times before, so sorry for asking again but I don't fancy reading through 1000s of replies and discussions on the forums in the hopes of 'maybe' finding what I need...
Let's assume this dstv service doesn't include sport, how does one watch English Premier League and F1 online? I'm more than happy to pay a monthly subscription which is reasonable and reliable. Anyone know of such a service. Premier League and F1 is essential for me. I'm hoping not to spend more than R299pm but could stretch it a bit if I need to. Thanks in advance!

PS: I could swear I read somewhere that Showmax was going to start showing sport. Am I imagining that and does anyone know a bit more if that's true?

Just responding to my own query in a sense but maybe something that could be of interest to others... I see Showmax Pro is available for R449pm now and includes a Netflix type service but also includes live sport. I currently use IPTV predominantly for sport but it tends to be a little unreliable at times and nothing quite does my head in like buffering while I'm trying to watch a live sports event. I might consider going the Showmax route and cancelling my IPTV and Prime accounts, keeping Netflix and Showmax Pro.

EDIT: I'm on 30/30Mbps Fibre, so buffering should NOT be something I have to contend with in terms of my IPTV.

ShowMax, sport is Soccer, no Rugby, no Cricket ...

There are numerous threads regarding Showmax Pro that you might want to have a look at. The sport offered is fairly limited.
