Not for me - I don't think I'll ever be in the top 50% - so I love the lack of "up-front" shaping... I can go back to downloading when I want, and not having to think of what to download weeks in advance because my 4MB product only downloads at 50KB/s.

*touch wood*

You'd be shaped - and I'd imagine at the beginning of the month everyone is on the list... so they obviously have a starting threshold. And if you can't tell the difference between being shaped and not shaped - then its an even better product.

Besides - I was able to download at 8x the speed I get on MWEB, I was also able to stream youtube videos for the first time in a few months - that's a good enough start for me - and well worth the extra R200.

50% is way better than MWEBS 100% shaping 80% of the day.

Could you please let me know how much you end up doing before they start shaping you?

Well - if its less than a 100GB - I'll go back to capped - if its more than 150GB (max.) - I'll never know.

You're welcome to that opinion.

I'll continue to compare Openweb Gold 4MB to MWEB's Uncapped .4MB... especially when R200 buys me 8x the speed, and proper browsing.

I'm also on openweb gold. And I broke the 100gb barrier this morning for december... Yes, that's right, 100gb in 5 days...

Awesome!

Left mweb uncapped 4mb service end of november when I barely did 200gb on their service for the month...

Explain how they're comparable if they don't cost the same?

Why? I don't need to justify my comparison of the two products to someone that has been punting MWEB virtually page after page since joining this forum.

Now you're not even allowed to compare shaped 4MB products with MWEB's unless they're the same price

As an idiot you can compare products which don't cost the same :)

Aww... are you really that pathetic? Why don't you run along and play with the other 'special' needs kids in the MWEB fan thread?

@xrapidx: If it costs R200 more per month then the two accounts can't really be compared...

Well this thread isn't about comparing with Mweb anyway. This is for those that don't want or care about Mweb anymore, we've given up on Mweb. This thread is about finding a new uncapped home - be it better performance, price or both.

This is an ex mweb uncapped subscribers feedback thread. Xrapidx was giving his feedback... Mweb was great. Was being the operative word... Shaping any usenet/torrents most of the time. I used to be able to get about 8gb between 12am and 6am from mweb, but not anymore... So I voted with my wallet. Had they had the brains to offer a 4mb less contended service, I might have taken that. I don't like waiting for cached items to download... And on my new isp, untill 7am I don't... Over weekends, I don't. When I'm at work, I do, but I don't care because I'm at work, not waiting :p

Why do we need to argue with eachother... Isn't mybb a democracy? Lol.

Chill dudes

Just as well - Axxess Just Uncapped 4096 is cheaper than MWEB, so according to his unwritten rule, you can't compare them.

It's just you I'm done with. Someone quote this so I can delete it :)

Promise? Because I really don't like MWEB fanboy's - 1,016 posts mostly defending MWEB... apparently their service is so good they need this defence.

I even quoted it for you.

SabreWolfy I think you kinda missed the point of this thread....

We decided to move away from MWEB because we were unhappy with the service that we got. No need to throw insults around. The point is that we are comparing the ISPs that we moved on to to each other and to MWEB,I guess we can even compare different packages if we really want to.

That's amusing ...

In the Mweb threads there are moans about the moaners. So when we start our own "ex" thread they come and haunt us here. Just leave us alone already! We hate f*ing Mweb.

Getting back on track....

@biometrics. So after 6 days, how are speeds generally? Especially during the day, in particular, streaming?
