Who is "we"? You got some HAM radio or something, or expecting this telepathically?

Bottom line, "we" as in you and I wouldnt be any the wiser if comms have or would happen.
So do you think that there are only a very few select people watching and listening to the sky?
The we I talk about is ALL of us. just like the broad messages we have broadcast into space we (the entire fsking planet) would receive a similar message. It would be impossible to hide.

When your theory depends on a conspiracy you cant prove or even define then you need to take a hard look at it.
 
Theory is those lot are clones (again the Greys) on a mission to experiment with reproduction with other life forms, so just bots with no other interest in us.


Some are said to be nervous of mankind's reaction if they were suddenly revealed. Thing is, either way there's lots of reason to think something is going on. You wouldn't believe how many incidents there have been, it's HUGE.
Did you know that the idea of "the greys" is a cultural phenomenon? The sci-fi stories came first, and THEN people started seeing flying saucers with little green or grey men.

There is not one story about them in any culture that has not been first exposed to the sci-fi.
 
Seems you get get pretty far at reducing what ground observers hear without invoking any nth-dimensional vacuum physics.

Except for the way it is explained in that extract you made is a pretty poor attempt on the part of whoever made that video.
 
I'm not aware of any aircraft that eliminates that shockwave though and I fail to see how reducing inertial mass is going to impact this at all. It's word salad by people that don't understand the absolute fundamentals of how aircraft and the atmosphere work.
Spot on! Too many attempts by writers ( scientific or ordinary journalists) trying to dumb down things in an attempt to explain it to the uneducated masses.

From flashing lights to radio signals to whatever. The first step is to get attention and then figure out how to communicate.

Lights flickering with prime numbers. If they're at any level of intelligence worth enough they should've at least figured out how to detect electromagnetic radiation even if they're blind.

Apparently you didn't read that Navy patent properly, if at all.
Inertial mass and gravitational mass are the same thing, hence when you reduce inertial mass, gravitational mass also decreases.
And yes, the mass of the aircraft matters.
Two identical fighter jets differing only in their respective mass will create differing magnitudes of shockwave.

So, looks like the word salad and misunderstanding of fundamentals is coming from your side, not mine

A larger aircraft displaces more of the atmosphere. If an aircraft is larger is it obviously much heavier... because it's larger... and so has more materials in it (do I honestly have to mention this?). The mass itself does not impact displacement, volume does. It's the displacement of air by the leading edge of the aircraft that causes the shockwave.

Jesus wept. Go back to primary school and sit in on a physics class. This is ridiculous.

EDIT: to be clear, that doesn't mean reducing intertial mass has no impact on an aircraft. Quite the contrary. A lighter vehicle is more maneuverable. It requires less force to accelerate and change direction. So handling of a craft that is made lighter is going to be improved. All other things beind equal however zero impact on the boom.

I'm really not following you here. @porchrat has pointed out over and over than the shockwave is a function of the shape of the object (the jet) and the environment. Two craft of the exact same size travelling the same speed will product the same shockwave regardless of whether one is made of metal and the other of carbon fibre. The particle density of the material of the ship is for all purposes irrelevant to the shockwave it produces.

Also all those NASA quotes etc. seem to use mass as a way of saying bigger vs. smaller aircraft which makes sense seeing as a smaller craft almost always has less mass than a bigger one. If you can find a single paper that actually describes how mass (in the proper sense of the word & everything else like size being equal) would cause a (relevant) difference to shockwave intensity by all means share it.

Assuming of course that the lighter material the aircraft is made of has similar properties to the heavier aircraft (tensile strength etc. so it doesn't wobble about at speed and change the profile of the parts in contact with the atmosphere).

All other things being equal, mass shouldn't matter.

EDIT: note I'm not a physicist, this is just common sense given the way I understand sonic booms and molecular interactions to work. Molecules tend to bump into each other and get in the way of each other in a gas (less so than in solids and liquids, but still it happens though we don't tend to think of it as happening because the gas just gets out of the way easily at low speeds). I could always be wrong. As @saor has said, if you can actually show me something that says mass impacts that shockwave I'd be interested, but I highly doubt it.

We haven't even started talking about how, if you go fast enough, you could start setting fire to the atmosphere around you. As the friction between the craft and the atmosphere, and the massive pressure from air molecules smashing into each other increases, you generate a lot of heat. Think about what space shuttles etc. look like on re-entry as an example of what I'm talking about. There is so much heat from the extreme speeds they move at that the highly compressed atmosphere in front of the craft is actually on fire.

Again this is a result of the relationship between volume, pressure and temperature. It's not just the aircraft itself that's responsible for this. Vacuum magic or otherwise.
