Extremely High Ping and Latency [not resolved]

Just a quick update....

I received an automated email from 8ta saying that they are experiencing high call volumes and that that will get to each and every customer... They are implying that i need a booster installed.... OMG 8ta have you not read my email correctly , the 10th one.....

I live next to the tower and I have said in my email to them that i have 99% signal strength and RSSI is -80 which is basically 100% operational....

We all know the reason for the slow speeds and *****ty latency/ping experienced...... Its too much congestion or they are being throttled by saix/telkom ... fck knows what there answer will be but obviously the high amount of users are too much for their network.....

Yet again another fail by 8ta ... 2 months of trying too make contact with them and this is how they reply.... seriously G..F..Y

I get the impression that when you walk out the door, that is the end of the relationship. No interest at all in resolving problems. I actually had a 8ta tech come round to our shop but I think our cleaner had better IT knowledge than him. He could hardly speak English, was 2 hours late and his laptop battery was flat and he said he forgot the charger. I offered him an iPad to use and he looked at it as if he had never seen one before

OK so just a little feedback ,, 8ta finally phoned me and have arranged a meeting with me on friday at my house... Fck knows why..... I have told them that i have 99% signal and rssi -90 which is very good...

They said that they have to test the signal for themselves...

Will update once they have been at my place

Same problem

Having the exact same issue in east london - high download speeds (get up to 500kb/s) but useless upload, ping and latency. Cannot skype, internet pages take a long time, uploading attachements takes forever, cannot play online games. Was going to sign up for their 10g contract too - sooo happy got wind of this problem before I did. How long shall we give them to sort it out? What's the best alternative SP to go with?

Same problem (Centurion PTA) here.
8ta was fine until sometime this month.
I am on Cell C as well and it is fine (< 60ms) even though 8ta and cell c share tower space (not the infrastructure though) in this area.

Unluckily on 8ta:

Ohh and doing a pingtest (when I can actually get it to work)

And considering I am based Pretoria - this is really interesting....

Hi Guys and Girls!

We have our network engineers involved in getting this issue resolved. Please call our call centre on 081 183, PM or email us on [email protected] with your ping results and speedtest results along with your 8ta details. Slootvreter Stop Trolling my thread.... anyways , here is an update to what happened .

So 8ta/telkom sent a tech to my house on Friday after checking my sim /dongle/pc and signal strength they have concluded that the issue is not from my side.... DUHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH I could and have told them so plenty times...

Anyways the tech told me that they will put it down as a network fault,,, and after much talking he actually confirmed that the issue is on 8ta's side and that they have to many users for the amount of towers and basically its congestion..

I knew this from the start , now I want to know what is 8ta gonna do about it... No one has contacted me... Reference number = 676550
8ta contract (10gb) number = 0812593154
and my in use cellc number is 0842591090....

Will someone get back to me plz......
