All I can say is: if you hate the corrupt FIA so much you should do the right thing and boycott them.

I think the terminology is found within the regulations. What would you have it called instead?

A few pages back someone posted a spreadsheet with the transgressions and it's punishment. Minor overspend would result in points deduction. But I can almost guarantee you this won't happen. Will be a slap on the wrist for rbr.

Either that somebody was posting nonsense or you read what you what wanted to read. The penalties range from a reprimand to points being deducted.

EDIT:

For a minor breach, which is less than 5% overspend, penalties can include a public reprimand, a deduction of constructors' or drivers' championship points, exclusion from events, limitations on aero testing or a fine.

They'll probably look where the breach was - development vs salaries vs whatever and take action based on that.

Considering it was the end of the old reg cars and many teams stopped development and this is the first time these cost rules are being applied you are probably right though: slap on the wrist

If they don't get stripped of any points now the only fair solution would be to scrap the cap. When Vettel was short on fuel there wasn't mercy, it was black or white.

But when it's rbr there's all manner of excuses for their behaviour.

We've seen this before for decades now. It used to be FerrariIA when Schumacher was winning, then MercedesIA when Lewis kept in winning (their special steering wheel etc etc) and now we transition to RBR and suddenly it is RedBullIA.

Always the same ****, but truth is there is no conspiracy, just upset fans who care more about the WDC than the Constructors' anyway.

And it will be like this after Red Bull. Always somebody who knows better than the teams, the drivers, the lawyers and the FIA bitching about the FIA, but they always come back to watch every abusive race year after year after year... :p

You're right, but way off topic. The current topic is rbr that overspend, that gave them a clear unfair advantage. The only thing we don't know yet is how much they overspend.

Point is they overspend, and it was said that this is not allowed.

The only one I feel sorry for at rbr is Max, he drove brilliantly this year and now due to no fault of his there's again a cloud hanging over his championship win, and that's before even taking into account yesterday's chaos.

If, for example, the FIA issues a public reprimand to RBR how would that not be in keeping with the regulations?

Assuming the above post is correct it would not be in keeping with regulations. There was a post with a link where the FIA promised harsh sanctions for transgressions. I don't really see them acting with any conviction though.

Please can Merc win a few races this year just so all the whining and crying can stop...

We have grown ups discussing rbr's current transgression, the only whining and crying is coming from you.

The current discussion is actually surprisingly civilized. Join in or go away.

Lewis Hamilton got a 10s penalty for causing a collision
Max got a 3 grid place penalty in next race for causing a collision
Eddie Irvine got a 3 race ban for causing a collision.

Yet you want only the most severe penalty to apply if it favors your driver?

Which part of which regulation would it not be in keeping with?
