I think the terminology is found within the regulations. What would you have it called instead?Minor overspend, my arse. To be honest no one expected this to amount to anything.

Either that somebody was posting nonsense or you read what you what wanted to read. The penalties range from a reprimand to points being deducted.A few pages back someone posted a spreadsheet with the transgressions and it's punishment. Minor overspend would result in points deduction. But I can almost guarantee you this won't happen. Will be a slap on the wrist for rbr.
For a minor breach, which is less than 5% overspend, penalties can include a public reprimand, a deduction of constructors' or drivers' championship points, exclusion from events, limitations on aero testing or a fine.

FIA confirms Red Bull, Aston Martin breached F1 cost cap rules
www.motorsport.com
They'll probably look where the breach was - development vs salaries vs whatever and take action based on that.
Considering it was the end of the old reg cars and many teams stopped development and this is the first time these cost rules are being applied you are probably right though: slap on the wrist
But when it's rbr there's all manner of excuses for their behaviour.
watch every race year free year after year...
We've seen this before for decades now. It used to be FerrariIA when Schumacher was winning, then MercedesIA when Lewis kept in winning (their special steering wheel etc etc) s and now we transition to RBR (albeit for only two years really) and suddenly it is RedBullIA.
Always the same ****, but truth is there is no conspiracy, just upset fans who care more about the WDC than the Constructors' anyway.
And it will be like this after Red Bull. Always somebody bitching about the FIA, but they always come back to watch every race year free year after year...![]()
If, for example, the FIA issues a public reprimand to RBR how would that not be in keeping with the regulations? If they don't get stripped of any points now the only fair solution would be to scrap the cap. When Vettel was short on fuel there wasn't mercy, it was black or white.
But when it's rbr there's all manner of excuses for their behaviour.
I pay to watch F1...
That's the autocorrect. Supposed to be "after" (fixed). Liberty doesn't let anybody watch anything for free, WRX and WRC includedI pay to watch F1...
Perhaps try again.Sorry man, your post was so confusing even Einstein would have an issue. You were quoting yourself, then it looked like it was a case of you arguing with yourself.
Didn't know if you were coming or going.
If I'm not mistaken it's only speeding if he exceeds the deltaFrom this it does look like he is speeding before the tractor
If, for example, the FIA issues a public reprimand to RBR how would that not be in keeping with the regulations?
Please can Merc win a few races this year just so all the whining and crying can stop...
Ah but is the delta per lap, per timing section, or more granular than that?If I'm not mistaken it's only speeding if he exceeds the delta![]()

Lewis Hamilton got a 10s penalty for causing a collisionIf they don't get stripped of any points now the only fair solution would be to scrap the cap. When Vettel was short on fuel there wasn't mercy, it was black or white.

Assuming the above post is correct it would not be in keeping with regulations. There was a post with a link where the FIA promised harsh sanctions for transgressions. I don't really see them acting with any conviction though.
We have grown ups discussing rbr's current transgression, the only whining and crying is coming from you.
The current discussion is actually surprisingly civilized. Join in or go away.
