Really happy for Seb after tumbling down the order. If only he could get 1 more win to see out his career...or Merc sign him for 2024! Or some other top team if he ever came back.

Byrne was the man behind all Michael Schumacher's WC. 7 constructors and 7 drivers WC. 99 race wins.
Colin Chapman, Rory Byrne and Adrian Newey are the 3 most successful designers in the sport.
Brawn was technical director at Benneton and Ferrari, not designer. The WC winning Brawn was designed by Loïc Bigois.

I am well aware that Brawn did not design cars. Brawn and Newey bring very different things to teams.

I still think that they are both contemporary greats and they were each part of almost every championship win when I was growing up.

Nobody says anything about the incident that started it all. The 5 sec penalty that was no way a penalty

You're really clutching at straws there, cutting a corner to keep/take a place almost always leads to a 5 second penalty if they don't give the position up/back.

The penalty was always going to be imposed.

I’m not so sure that it is clutching and there would be an argument for appeal but Ferrari aren’t appealing so it’s pointless to debate.

"There's a ****ing tractor on the track" ... Gasly

I also don't get the outrage over this. WTF is gasly playing at doing 250km/h down the track in zero vis under safety car conditions?

Very interesting breakdown! Now we know

Because they know Le Clerc is guilty, and there would be no chance of success during the appeal.

Canada. Vettel went off, rejoined and squashed out Hamilton from passing. 5s penalty.

Same same.
That was the race where Seb went and moved the #1 sign from Hamilton's car to his and put the #2 in front of Hamilton.
Also the start of his drop in performance (not helped by Ferrari doing something dodgy with that engine of his) and inability to win the 2019 WDC.

Did LeClerc gain a benefit from cutting the corner? Yes or no?

That's why Ferrari didn't appeal...

Checo got close to overtaking him with that advantage. What would have happened if Le Clerc hadn't done that and Checo got the better traction out that corner.

Hell, even Le Clerc said the penalty was justified. It's just salty supporters (probably switched from supporting Hamilton last year to Le Clerc this year) who believe it was a conspiracy.

Jules Bianchi died after crashing into a tractor clearing an accident at Suzuka in 2014.

He was?

Here, a little bit of Googling would get you your answer. Can you see the outrage now?

He wasn't speeding prior to reaching the tractor, at that point he got outraged and the penalty he received for speeding was all recorded on points in the circuit after the tractor. You could argue he was outraged and sped.

That said, even the FIA said they will now investigate the incident after multiple drivers spoke out about the tractor, and they will report back to the public.
