RENAULT IMPROVING IN LAP TIME
Palmer goes three tenths quicker, setting a 1:27.402.
The Brit can't stop himself! He's just improved to a 1:26.810, six tenths behind Vandoorne.
 
BOTTAS TAKES THE W08 OUT
After Lewis Hamilton ran in the Mercedes this morning, it's now Bottas' turn. He comes out on the medium tyres.
Inside front lock-up for Bottas into Turn 1 and runs a little wide, Bottas's first lap of the day puts him eighth, 5.1s slower than Hamilton's best.
 
Williams has pushed its car out of the garage and has been running the engine, while mechanics try to hide the car with screens.

They've just pushed it back in now having switched the engine off. The McLaren, meanwhile, is up on stands and some work is ongoing, but the garage is not exactly a hive of activity at the moment.

No surprise to see the three drivers who didn't (really) run in the morning filling the post-lunch void on track. Bottas and Mercedes will have a busy programme planned, while Renault and Sauber are playing catch-up after spending the morning in the garage.
 
GIOVINAZZI BACK ON TRACK
The Ferrari/Sauber man is back on the circuit after causing the very brief red flag period.
He sets a 1:28.153 as Sauber aim to make up for lost running.
 
Raikkonen - who we are told is feeling under the weather today - rejoins the action in the Ferrari.
Raikkonen starts his first lap of the day with a personal best sector, four tenths down on Hamilton's super-soft best.
Ferrari ditches the mediums it has seemingly run throughout this test for a set of softs, and Raikkonen improves to a 1m22.0s. That puts him 1.0s behind what Hamilton managed on super-softs.
After backing off for a lap, Raikkonen is pushing again and posts another 1m22.0s but it's not quite an improvement.
 
THREE IN A ROW!
Giovinazzi is gaining confidence. Three personal best laps in a row for the Sauber driver.
He's now down to 1:26.976 on those medium tyres.
 
Pit entry practice for Bottas - Mercedes seems to be placing cones in front of the pit bay to simulate various levels of tight-entry. Bottas seems to hit his marks based on the markings on the ground, although he does clatter the big yellow arrow that is stood up in front of him instead of a live front jack-man.
 
PALMER BACK OUT
The Renault is back out and looking to register some more miles. He joins Magnussen and Raikkonen.
Giovinazzi's run of laps comes to an end.

Palmer improves, while Raikkonen heads out on softs again. Ferrari has been relatively patient before waiting to move away from the mediums, but maybe now we're going to get more of an idea of the car's pace on faster tyres.
Kimi Raikkonen and Jolyon Palmer have joined Magnussen on track.
Palmer has just improved to eighth place by posting a 1:25.810. 15 laps on the board for Renault now.
Kimi Raikkonen on soft tyres is just two tenths away from Hamilton's morning time. He sets a 1:21.198.
Palmer, meanwhile, lowers his time to a 1:25.192.

Bottas ragged through Turn 7 last lap - carried a bit too much speed in and all over the kerb at the exit.
The rear misbehaved a little on turn in to the fast Turn 9 right hander for Bottas. Sorted out but suggests rears aren't quite giving him the grip they once were.
The Mercedes is starting to look a bit ragged now. Into 1m25s. It's definitely being driven at the moment. That's what we want!
Magnussen using DRS on back straight. Bottas isn't. The Mercedes seems to be quite sensitive at the rear to the bumps into Turn 9.
 
OCON RETURNS TO THE TRACK
After the technical problems from before lunch, Esteban Ocon takes the Force India back out for some laps.
 
RAIKKONEN RETURNS
Ferrari deploy their car once again. They're about to start their 60th lap of the day.
 
P1 FOR RAIKKONEN!
His first job on track is to put the Ferrari back into first place!
His soft-tyre run is marginally faster than Hamilton's super-soft effort...

There's a few cooling off laps for Kimi...including a trip down the pit lane, but he continues to circulate.

Just the 33 laps for Red Bull and Max Verstappen today, but it looks like they are hoping for a late burst - similar to that of Daniel Ricciardo's last night - before the end of the day.
 
It's getting busier out there with 2h30m remaining today. Raikkonen, Ocon, Magnussen, Bottas and Giovinazzi all out on track.
Sauber reappear. They join Ferrari, Force India, Mercedes and Haas in deploying drivers.
Ocon is only 1.5 seconds off the pace now with use of the super soft tyres.
