Fallout 76

They're basically taking the Fallout IP and making a game as a service that they can monetize with loot boxes/micro transactions.

Expect a mobile game type progression, were you'll get a few easy levels at the start after which you can either grind boring repetitive quests endlessly in an attempt to get any where or buy their form of loot boxes to give you a "boost".

I'm not sure who they're making this game for. I could be wrong, but I don't think this type of game will appeal to anybody who's a fan of the single player games.

Anyway, I'll be giving this a pass.

I think many publishers saw the massive success of GTA Online and got a hard-on for doing such a thing themselves. At face value it seems awesome, until you actually play for a while and realise the amount of grinding required to buy the stuff you want. Shark Cards are the most lucrative thing ever to happen to Rockstar.

Hence my concern for what Sharkstar have developed for the RDR2 online component. Seems a sure thing that some epic bs is waiting.

I've seen some of his videos not specifically on Fallout 76 though.

I saw a bit of random "game play" video where they talked about "perk packs" and it's not to difficult to see were things go from there.

If you want a fallout fix rather download fallout miami.
Bethesda is straying a bit too far off the beaten path with the official fallout games.

Which reviews?

I see a blank on Metacritic and Opencritic.

Mainly checked the Fallout subreddit, a couple of reviews on Youtube (DreamcastGuy, Jim Sterling). More bugs than the usual Bethesda release is the main consensus.

Review in progress

https://www.ign.com/articles/2018/11/16/fallout-76-review

For the past day and a half, Fallout 76

has been live and mostly stable. Since it’s officially out, survivors have started flooding into post-apocalyptic West Virginia, and now that I’m sitting pretty at level 25, I’ve had a good chance to get a feel for how the full release compares to the lengthy beta… and my immediate reaction is that almost nothing has changed with regard to the content or polish of Fallout 76. As we all should have learned by now, “It’s just the beta, they’ll fix it for launch” is far from a guarantee.

Because of this, my lengthy beta impressions below still hold true and can be considered valid thoughts on the launched version. But for the full review I’ve switched platforms from my Xbox One X to PC to coordinate with more friends to try to get the most out of the social elements and reach the end-game nuclear missile gameplay more efficiently. The race to get there by Thanksgiving is on!

Metacritic reset User reviews about 7 plus times. Probably being paid off and not to post bad things about it. Reviewers normally have the game for long period of time prior release date. IGN saying it is progress is basically Bethesda just paying them off to hold the review till they fix the 2015 game they released in 2018.

User reviews I expect a lot of bullshit scores for the game being an online experience and people not getting it or not being interested in it.

The Beta was pretty solid so I expect a decent game.

However I need to finish RDR2 first.

I watched the game being streamed... It is a stock MMO dressed in a Fallout skin. I was very close to purchasing the game until I watched some streams. The Elder Scrolls Online is much better executed, considering where the product is today.

I will stick with Destiny 2.

Yeah have gotten R200 off and then R300 again for the delay. But seeing the reviews doesnt look like Im missing out.

Playing Pokemon though.....not as bad as I thought it would be.

On the bright side is that any and all Fallout 76 DLC will be inclusive and since it is an MMO they will need to pump out DLC to maintain the game’s continuity. I don’t know whether the DLC will include expansions or whether expansions will be sold separately.

When an MMO’s participating numbers start to dwindle the devs and publishers tend to put more premium into the game. As much as the diehards believe that the game may improve over time, it is more whether it will improve over time.

I spent enough hours watching others play this game, and in its current shape, it is simply not the MMO into which I want to invest my time. It is not Fallout, it is dressed as Fallout.

When players stop playing an MMO once they concluded the end game, then you need to ask whether this is an MMO? 3 Days… there still need to be things to do, there still needs to be player interaction and this is where they Failed. The bugs in the game were never the issue at heart. I wouldn’t be surprised to see new content soon.

By the time you receive your game, the ratings may be up ;)
