Fallout 76

On the bright side is that any and all Fallout 76 DLC will be inclusive and since it is an MMO they will need to pump out DLC to maintain the game’s continuity. I don’t know whether the DLC will include expansions or whether expansions will be sold separately.

When an MMO’s participating numbers start to dwindle the devs and publishers tend to put more premium into the game. As much as the diehards believe that the game may improve over time, it is more whether it will improve over time.

I spent enough hours watching others play this game, and in its current shape, it is simply not the MMO into which I want to invest my time. It is not Fallout, it is dressed as Fallout.

When players stop playing an MMO once they concluded the end game, then you need to ask whether this is an MMO? 3 Days… there still need to be things to do, there still needs to be player interaction and this is where they Failed. The bugs in the game were never the issue at heart. I wouldn’t be surprised to see new content soon.

By the time you receive your game, the ratings may be up ;)

Just got word.....Seems Monday I`m getting it. Best thing is I couldnt even play the BETA - Registered my BETA key and when it was time to login I dont have access. Logged a call and guess what - They want my system info.....

This company is losing it

Ha ha ha what a failure! Poor Todd Howard! He is not the most liked guy in the Fallout world.

They should just give it back to Obsidian. Of course they won't, not with shareholders screaming about revenue per user, DLC and microtransactions.

Sadly, I think this game is a complete failure. Incidentally, I think the pre-sale culture is what is contributing to this.

Problem is with all limited edition stuff, if you are not fast enough with the pre-order - Good luck getting it or pay twice the price

I’m still considering to buy the game, but not today.

When Bethesda greenlights the private servers, as they said they will, then the Rust crowd may, perhaps, also spill into this game.

The thing with MMO is that you need to make your own time available to play, to participate in clan/group activities. It is insanely hard to play two MMOs at a time.

I am an adventure/action-adventure gamer. GOG loves me. The only other games that I play are CS, regularly, PUBG and Elite, and now I'm also pulled into Destiny 2. Destiny 2 Forsaken is also on special, again.

Only the mad?

This train wreck was pretty clear from the beta to release streams. Not sure where the surprise level is coming from.

No surprise from my end. Just feel for those who paid so much for this game. I think fans would be better served playing through New Vegas again.

This is not an MMO. The game play, style and story don't make it possible to make it an MMO. It is still the very a single player game with online capability. I don't want a wasteland that is heavily populated. Sharding players into separate servers goes against what MMOs stand for as well.

It's like they updated the engine, designed a new game world, but then forgot to make the game. And then published it.

The instances are in any case limited to 24 players which are then separated into cooperative groups. It is a coop MMO and some goals are only achievable in coop as there are time restrictions.

Private servers are to be introduced to enable the host to customise the coop experience.

I don't see how this is an MMO? Creating small virtual servers to cater for 24 players at a time does not mean it is massive. It's just an online game. As per the Fallout 76 Wiki, its position is as follows:

Fallout 76

By your own classification, we could then call all online games MMOs, and then the meaning literally evaporates.

Seems I made the right choice in skipping this. First fallout game I have skipped...

It was developed as an MMO, but it isn’t massive and thus it isn’t a pure MMO. The game design includes MMO mechanics, world persistence at its core and other MMO elements.

No, it isn’t a single player game, unless you regard a breadcrumb quest as a single player experience, but the rest, the end-game is a coop experience.

I would argue it to be in a similar category than Destiny, which also isn’t massive, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see raids and other similar events being introduced in Fallout 76.

It is an online multiplayer game based on an MMO template. Whether it is one or the other, well, that is to be established.

I purchased the game now, only due to the heavy discount on it. Will try it the weekend, maybe launch a nuke on my own.

jys mal :p:p:p

I'll give it a spin though when it reaches R200 mark :coffee:

I took a lot into consideration though. I don’t believe the game to be expensive, now discounted, at the moment. Bethesda promised to keep the DLC on the house, only the cosmetics will cost you money. Those knowing me on Steam will know that I don’t like the ‘skin’ trade, cosmetics has never added value to my experience, it is another to earn it as it is an accomplishment.

I will get into this early, level my character, get bored and wait until the next DLC comes along… by the time you pay R200 the public servers will be in shutting down mode :whistling:

Who knows, maybe I like the game, maybe make some new Eastern European buddies on my single player adventure.
