Fallout 76

imho its going to die the classical mmo death after the initial peak. Sure the die hards will stick it out, but the once the player drain starts its going to go the route all mmo's eventually does.

F76 would probably go faster seeing its already in a broken state, unfinished and not much loved. Unless of course bethesda injects content to try and retain...

well or remake some of their ****ups I'd say the writing is already on the wall.

// starts the wait for F76 to appear of death of a game - nerdslayer.

They took a pre-alpha build of Fallout 4, which probably already had multiplayer mechanics, stripped it of its resources. Made a new map, threw in a deck system, and voila!!! Put the alpha up as beta, launched the beta as final.

From what I'm gathering, it will be modders and private servers which will inject life into this failure. ZeniMax planned this since Fallout MMO from back in the day, the legal battle with Interplay.

Look, the game is much better playing with friends, but in all likelihood, your friend doesn't own this game.

I'm not a big fan of early adopters being penalised by paying the full price for a demo and having late adopter enjoy the game at its pinnacle.

Sure, "we" normally fix their mistakes. However will there be modding support?

Yes, modding support was made in their pre-launch announcement, it is obvious that it will apply to private servers. They also said that there will be no additional paid content other than cosmetics, see how they will backtrack on this now since their dismal sales and would probably be their excuse to FU the current customer base, again. Fixes will probably come as paid expansions… Ek sal in my broek kak.

Strange hey, the whole thing with The Elder Scrolls Online, how they messed it up in the beginning then changing the scheme and through that made the game great. They can’t do that with Fallout 76, it doesn’t have that subscription base income. ZeniMax is loaded though, they must give or GTFO.

Really, they can't place the burden on modders. ****, they will probably have modders list their 'premium' content in a store.

I don't want to talk anymore, these predictions are possible outcomes :crying:

An online multiplayer game, prematurely launched

Nah, I believe they learned their lesson. Why rush Fallout 76, there must be a story behind this.
Imagine their main E3 announcement was Elder Scrolls: Blades.

Either ZeniMax is bribing key people, or some people are insane, but I see that people are having their hopes up that FO76 may be the next NMS.

Again, NMS had everything to make it a good game, Fallout 76 doesn't. Sean Murray's 'BS' at least had a vision and in the end, they delivered as promised.

Bethesda hasn't said anything since the beta. Lol, I remember when Polygon said that the beta is almost an early access release, which seemingly is, and still is. Versioning doesn't change that.

Bethesda hates modders. They created the "Creation Club" as a way to get money from mods.

Just watched the Noclip documentary on Fallout 76. The netcode is based on old ID Tech Quake code. The game was initially in co-development alongside Fallout 4, but was side-lined, and ZeniMax opened a new Bethesda studio to do the undertaking.

The whole documentary is the way Sean Murray talked about No Man’s Sky, but Murray did it with belief and he, the studio, didn’t deliver as promised, but ultimately, they did deliver at the end. The thing is No Man’s Sky had that potential. Creation Engine mixed with really old Quake code doesn’t seem to have any room to allow expansion or advancements.

Essentially, they had two teams working on this, a new Bethesda studio and BattleCry, which previously attempted at coding multiplayer into Fallout 4 as DLC. They had problems doing it back then, and they clearly still have problems today seeing the state Fallout 76 is in.

Here is the documentary,

here is a reddit link with notes on the documentary,

Yes, I may bitch about the game. I have purchased it and played it, and guess what,

Bethesda Reportedly Rescinds Offer For ‘Fallout 76’ PC Refunds
Back on Thursday, we ran a report indicating that Bethesda was offering refunds to dejected players of the PC version of Fallout 76, with a number of them citing issues with connecting online and performance. However, a follow-up indicates that they aren’t going through with it after all.

They changed their terms that once you have downloaded the game that you will not get your money back.

The launch was neatly planned to coincide with Black Friday, they are going to change the business model whether people like it or not.

NoClip is awesome haven't missed out on it yet
Yeah, but, their vid on FO76 is promotional. It tells a good story and it now gives a taste of PR for ZeniMax. You may also note that the filmmakers said that Bethesda told them that their plan is to produce free DLC, but in the following interview Bethesda state that DLC and further developments are part of their plan and that the plan may change, therein the fact that free DLC isn't set in stone

The media got it wrong that Bethesda promised free DLC, nowhere did the publishers state that fact.

More and more I read about this I'm like WTF!!!

Going to wait and see what happens with this, maybe after a year if it is still available and got some good fixes (and on special) might buy and mess around with it.
