Fallout 76

I am still playing the game, it is boring, but I’m levelling. Btw, the game was R320-R340 yesterday at select ‘digital’ outlets. I criticised Bethesda on 2 separate social media sites only to be mobbed and bombarded by delinquents. As some would also know, Bethesda managed to close any additional comment on their FO76 subreddit.

Also, Bethesda isn’t giving any money back, they won’t and they made this clear. They will however give you $5 in-game credit, as an insult, when you complain about paying more than those between Friday and Monday. Oh, and it is also selectively rewarded. To think $60 vs $35 and they are only willing to give you $5 virtual currency back to buy worthless cosmetic goods.

Anyway, they didn’t reply to me. How awesome must it be to be championed by kiddies, kids which used mom’s and dad’s money to purchase this crap. What trolls don’t get is that they are supporting this bad business and unethical behaviour, only to have this same crap reoccur time and time again, and I’m quite sure that they are paying people to shill.

One guy went on reddit and asked Bethesda to respond, here is Bethesda’s reply:

Hello! Thank you for your post, and for your feedback. We want you to know that we're always looking through posts, tweets, and comments for any and all feedback on the game. We truly appreciate you reaching out to us, and letting us know your thoughts, concerns, ideas, and giving us an idea of what you're looking for.

We will have new information to share soon, so keep an eye out this week!

Going to wait and see what happens with this, maybe after a year if it is still available and got some good fixes (and on special) might buy and mess around with it.

By that time they will have introduced proper PvP, nothing like being lvl 1-50 dropped alongside with lvl 100 players.

Communication Moving Forward
renderTimingPixel.png

Hi r/fo76,
We know you’re frustrated and angry at the state of things right now, whether it’s the issues you’re running into in the game, or the lack of communication about fixes, updates, or news. To be clear, this account is run by us, Bethesda Game Studios community team. Yesterday we posted to let you know that we’re still here gathering your feedback and, more importantly, working to get info from the team we can share. We didn’t want you to think the silence meant nothing was happening. We're sorry and understand this was not the right approach, and we’ll work to make a better bridge between you and the dev team at BGS.
We’re posting an article today that has further information about the upcoming updates that were mentioned a few weeks ago. In addition, we’re aiming to get you the patch notes for these updates quicker and will have them available for December 4th’s update later this week. Probably Thursday or Friday. We’d like to make these articles weekly to make sure you know what the studio is working on as it relates to issues you may be experiencing, quality of life requests you have, or new features they’re excited to share.
Please take a look at the below to see what we’re posting today on Fallout.com, and as always, let us know if you have any thoughts or feedback. This article covers high-level issues being worked on as the patch notes will go at length into what’s being fixed with each update.
December 4, 2018 – Next week’s update will bring an increase to the Stash limit, as well as a variety of performance and stability improvements, balance changes, and multiple bug fixes to the game. We’ll have full patch notes available later this week ahead of Tuesday’s update. Some notable issues being addressed in this update include:
  • Stash Limit Increased: We know many of you have been asking for an adjustment to the Stash storage limit, and we’re happy to share that we’re increasing it from 400 to 600. While this is somewhat conservative, we plan to increase the storage cap further once we verify that this change will not negatively impact the stability of the game.
  • Boss Loot: Players should correctly receive two to three items after taking down a boss, depending on the creature’s difficulty and level.
  • Cryolator Effects: Players hit with the Cryolator are now Chilled, Frosted, or Frozen depending on how many times they are hit. The duration of movement speed reductions applied by these effects have also been decreased from 2 hours to 30 seconds.
  • Respawning When Overencumbered: We’ve resolved an issue affecting players who die while overencumbered that only allowed them to Respawn at Vault 76. Now, overencumbered players will be able to respawn at the nearest discovered Map Marker.
  • Stuck in Power Armor: We’ve addressed an issue in this patch that could cause players to become stuck inside Power Armor. We’re also aware that there are some additional cases where this can occur, and we are actively investigating them.
December 11, 2018 – The next update after December 4 is currently planned for the following week. Like previous patches, it will include a variety of bug fixes, but we’re also planning to bring some more notable changes and features to the game. You can catch a preview of these improvements below, and a full list of changes will be included in the December 11 patch notes.
  • PC Additions: A Push-to-Talk setting for Voice Chat, 21:9 resolution support, and a Field of View setting are all being implemented on PC with this update.
  • SPECIAL Respec: After level 50, you’ll be able to choose between a new Perk Card, or moving a SPECIAL point you had previously allocated.
  • C.A.M.P. Placement on Login: Your C.A.M.P. will no longer be automatically blueprinted and stored if someone is occupying your location when you log into a server. Instead, you’ll receive a notification that your space is occupied. If you decide to find a new home for your C.A.M.P. on that server, it will be free to do so. However, if you don’t attempt to place down your C.A.M.P., you will be able to switch to a new server where that spot is vacant and your C.A.M.P. will be fully assembled and waiting for you.
  • Bulldozer: This is a new C.A.M.P. feature that will allow you to remove small trees, rocks, and other obstructions so it’s easier to create and place your C.A.M.P. when and where you want it. You can also use the Bulldozer to clear these items from the surrounding area to make your C.A.M.P. feel more like home!
Thank you, and please don’t stop letting us know how we can improve our communication and what else needs to be addressed in the game. Once we finalize the patch notes for the December 4 update, we’ll be sure to post them here and all patch notes and weekly updates going forward.

Hopefully will become better game for you guys who have bought it.

I'm still having a blast playing 76.

Good on you, Bethesda is liking you now. I am also still playing; the experience is slightly improved by teaming up. Last night’s highlight was an American asking to team up with us.

Less than 20min later, without any action, the whole team turned ‘red’ against each other. It broke the team system, it broke the quest system. That was not a blast to be had, the closest we had to a blast was blowing up vehicles which were blowing up by themselves.

On this note, I don’t know how they regionally locked this game since it is regionally activated, but during this week I am certain that I am playing on American and European servers, and that each server is having its own quirks.

Bethesda’s attempt to fix a Fallout 76blunder leaks angry shoppers’ PID [Updated]
Bethesda confirms leak of users' messages, photos; will notify affected users.

Bethesda's latest video game, Fallout 76, launched last month with its share of uneven reviews and responses (including our own), and chief among players' complaints is that the always-online game is quite buggy.

But to borrow a term that Bethesda itself used to describe the game's pre-release beta period, Fallout 76 is facing a new "spectacular issue," albeit one that's technically outside of the game client. Instead, the issue comes from the game's equally troubled $200 Power Armor edition: buyers of the Power Armor edition who went to Bethesda's site to resolve the issue were seeing their personally identifying data (PID) leaked to everybody else who was trying to resolve the issue.

This requires backing up for context. Fallout 76 could be pre-ordered in a pricey Power Armor set, complete with a wearable replica helmet and a tote bag. As I pointed out in a November unboxing article, that bag turned out to be "a cheap, flimsy carrying case," but what I didn't realize at the time was that Bethesda had originally advertised a higher-quality canvas bag as part of the $200 set.

Once orders for the set began shipping to players, their outcry prompted Bethesda to respond with a token of apology: a $5 voucher for Fallout 76's in-game cosmetics store. Fans took umbrage with the token by pointing out a hilarious irony: that amount of credit couldn't even buy a virtual canvas bag within the game in question.

Power armor, meet power error
Bethesda soon followed this with a seemingly more-fitting offer: an actual canvas bag, just like the publisher had originally promised. This required logging onto Bethesda's help-ticket system and submitting a few things for replacement-bag processing: a picture serving as proof of purchase, complete with hand-written name, Bethesda.net username, and receipt, along with a shipping address and phone number.

On Tuesday, however, user reports began circulating with an ominous allegation: that anyone who filed a support ticket at Bethesda's site was receiving a lot of replies to their threads. As in, every ticket going through the system.

From Bethesda's own forums:

I went on the support website today to update a ticket of mine, and surprisingly (or not...) I ended up being able to see all sorts of tickets, with people putting their personal information in them, like receipt screenshots, names, addresses, and so on. I'm assuming this is a bug in the website, because I don't see for what reason Bethesda would make tickets public.
I'm not going to paste screenshots of what I have access to for the privacy of people, but I can see receipts of people from all over the world, and if I can, other people probably can, too.
It seems like the code of the website sucks as much as the one of the game.
Shortly after this post went live, the thread was updated by a moderator to indicate that it would be locked, but users were still able to reply to the thread. That "thread locked" notice went away shortly afterward, with an indication that the data-leak issue had been resolved. I was unable to file a ticket to attempt to replicate the issue, however, as the ticket-submission page was still missing its "submit" button as of press time.

Other Reddit users added their own allegations of the same issue, with one public screenshotshowing multiple, confused replies to the same support-ticket thread. This public screenshot includes no personally identifying data; screenshots with other users' addresses and photos have since been taken down from Reddit and Bethesda threads, while GamesIndustry.biz tracked down the first public image of the bug's effects, posted by a Twitter user.

Update, 11:12 p.m.: In a statement provided to Ars Technica, Bethesda confirmed that users' PID was exposed to fellow customer service users without their knowledge or consent via "an error with our customer support website." According to the statement, Bethesda is "still investigating the incident and will provide additional updates as we learn more." The statement emphasized what kinds of data had been exposed: namely, the specific details that the bag-replacement support site requests, not "full credit card numbers or passwords."

The company says it will notify any customers whose messages and photos may have been inadvertently shared. "Bethesda takes the privacy of our customers seriously, and we sincerely apologize for this situation," the statement concludes.

Sad really, this **** up from Bethesda.

's New Patch Brings Unexpected Changes And More Tedium
Fallout 76 is not in a good place. There’s pretty much a consensus among fans on this point. Last week, Bethesda pivoted on its messaging, posting an apology to players on the Fallout 76 subreddit for not being very communicative about its plans for updating and fixing the game going forward. After the latest patch was announced on Wednesday, things seemed to be trending in the right direction. But then, players discovered new problems.

Lol, this schit isn't getting any better

Good

May it suffer a fiery death and set a new precedent that consumers will no longer stand for crap like this.

Big fallout fan (New Vegas ftw!) And own all the Fallout games but wont touch this with a barge pole :-(

I'm still playing New Vegas.
You should try the (if you haven't already) world of pain mod.
Ads about 150 new unique locations with high level enemies and loot.
I've also added the bullet time mod and high texture and lighting mods.
Game never gets old.

Screw Fallout 76

Reactions: OCP
Obsidian's new announcement yesterday,

I had a raging boner for 76 and I would have bought it on launch and was sad I didn't have the money. Then I was glad I dodged a bullet but I was sad about the state of one of my favourite games of all time.

After seeing this my raging boner is restored.
HAPPY!
