Favourite hangover cure...

just get pissed again, seriously, it works everytime

Yep this works even if it isn't healthy.

Seriously though for me if I remember to drink a few glasses of water before going to bed it sorts me out hundreds... funny how usually I remember to eat something but forget to drink :D

Honey before you go to bed should, theoretically, help. It has an enzyme (I believe) which metabolises alcohol fast - I've yet to try it. I don't often drink enough to get hangovers regularly, but when I do, believe me, everyone I speak to knows about it!

A really bad hangover will leave me cowering for at least 18 hours after I stopped drinking. I won't be able to keep anything down, not even the tiniest sip of water. This happens about once or twice a year.

Water before you go to bed is the golden rule. If you forget this, or pass out before several glasses of water, then try taking something like Essentiale when you wake up. It's loaded with B-vitamins. Pineapple juice is good too, if your stomach is not too sensitive to the acid.

Tomato juice also works wonders, provided you can keep it down. But sometimes you just have to live with the pain if you dont have any of these quick-fix remedies around! Sleep, warmth, water, and a dark room, and wait it out!

Oh, and plenty of sympathy can sometimes do wonders :)

That is very unlikely, if your a guy anyway ! :D

Your more likely to get someone saying "Aaah, babalaas eh ?"
Or they'll thump around the room on purpose.

If your at work, you are guaranteed to have a busy day - it's one of those unwritten laws that everyone know exist, but refuse to believe.

Later that afternoon, one of your work colleagues is bound to say, with a grin on their face, "fancy a beer after work ?"

me neither, my head aches are so constant and regular i dont notice them anymore

One thing i also do and which does sound odd, is add 2 heaped teaspoons of sugar to my tall glass of whisky and water.. then again I dont drink a lot very often but it does help the whisky taste better. Its also not bad with sprite and the sugar seems to help with the babelas the next day..

Tried that 'Soba' stuff a few years back, looked like mud and tasted evern worse.. :)

each glass should also have in about 3 tea spoons of sugar and a splash of lemon juice. take a panado with the last glass
As part of a training course about 8 years ago, I showed people how to pour cocktails and what goes with what and what does not. Then we where surprised and had to do another speech/demo on a topic choosen by the department heads.

I got hangovers. Spoke to quiet a few doctors and did a hell of a lot of reading and as we all know, there basically is no cure other than to not get drunk. Suger however was something that I was told is a very bad idea. Without going into to much details, have a look at the suger molecule and then look at the Alcohol molecule.

Best advice I got from most doctors is drink lots of substances with electrolytes in them, IE: energade. This will allow you to replace the water in your system much quicker than normal and help you to feel better.

From personal experience, KGB does work, if you can remember at 4:00 am in the morning to take the black tablets. But my Fiance made me a "Kombucha tea" concoction and in 10 min I felt 100%, I really am not joking when I say it was one of those days where I felt like drowning myself because I felt so bad, and the handover was gone before I could blink

*You can buy the Kombucha Tea from Clicks for about R15, then add Sage, Rosemary, Thyme, Parsley to it, Throw it in the blender and drink.

PS: If anyone knows of somebody who has or would like to sell the "Kombucha Babies" required to make you own tea please let me know ASAP!

Babbelas buster?

Hi .....

Was just wonder what is everybody's secret to bust that babi the next morning? Mine is a Sparberry coldrink and two Myprodols....:)

water.... alcohol dehydrates you, so if you are in a state to remember have a liter or so of water before you sleep.

just drink as much water as you can and also take as many vitamin tablets as you can get your hands on. As noswal said...booze dehydrates you, but in doing so it also makes you flush out a lot of electrolytes, ie th the chemicals you need to convey electricla pulses along teh length of your nerves.

Or just a little hair of the dog..i find that works quite well too

Ever tried drinking the 'hard' water that comes out of London's taps? Absolutely revolting!!

Wasn't fun after a night out with Stella Artois.... :(

I drink lots of water before bed and a bottle of water next to my bed. I did learn a very clever little way of getting over hangovers quickly when my jaw was broken. I have an "Ensure" addiction since my liquid diet days of sucking my meals through a straw. "Ensure" is a meal supliment milkshake and costs around R50 for a tin (I think it is enough for about 9 milkshakes). I find that I am all perky again about half an hour to an hour after a milkshake (Not 100% but not dog turd miserable)

1 liter of water before bed, 3 Comprals. If you still feel crappy when you wake up, have 1 beer, everything sorted ... that one beer takes you out of the hangover state, back into being drunk, problem solved :p
