Fiber - Springs

Exciting news for Edelweiss "Blomme" side.

Feder cables are in on "Blomme" side. Feeder racks are mounted also.

Busy testing house link up to street racks. Over 400 houses to do. Three days to do. Approx. 160 test a day.

Bokke side also needs to be completed. Not done yet.

Exciting news from POP it can be tested back to street address. This gets determined on length. POP to house.

Vuma have been very busy again here in selection park, hills rd there by that curvy close to the mall, wondering if that for the link past the mall
 
I also checked installation van in Strubenvale doing installation. So things are moving up.
 
If I can belief this, Edelweiss bokke side could be live next weekend.
Everyone I spoke to today said so, they need to finish up. Priority... priority on there side.

They need to patch from "Street racks" to "Feeder racks". They were busy making up labels to put on these patch leads.

It is strange that with some they install and others don't.

You have gone with Axxess they did the install. And not through Vuma.
This could be catch 22. Any way best of luck.

I found out were our POP is and were feeder cables are coming from. Selcourt primary close to Checkers selcourt.

I was under the impression it came from Selection Park. Then via N17. But I saw them taken fiber across N17. I was standing there. Perhaps spare for things to come. Mega City here by us.

Don't worry. Found out you could phone any ISP to come and do installation.
Because Axxess did the install that means they are the chosen ISP. (Catch 22 if you were going for someone else.)

dont get me started on that, "mega city" being built on a unused uranium mine, or that COE , to date has done no environmental, traffic or infrastructure assessments,

if i have to take a guess, its the same situation as this

Springs mall

Shabangu this week admitted receiving R1,220,000 from the developers of the Springs Mall, but denied that it was a bribe.

A report by the Ekurhuleni municipality found that Shabangu, the DA caucus chair in the council, received payments from the developers of the mall.

According to the report, adopted by the Ekurhuleni council "in committee minutes" published this year, Shabangu had an illegal contract with the developers for a job he "would otherwise have offered free of charge by being a councillor for the area"

He's a joke, i been waiting over a year now for street lights, emails sent to him, get deleted without being read

My box got spliced today with pigtail outside at curb.
Also saw someone at junction box doing what? He had a street cabinet open, street racks.

Blomme side of things they carried testing street termination box back to street racks. Over 200 were done.

Bokke side of things busy splicing "street racks" to "feeder racks". So things are moving.
Once this is completed all systems go.
 
just signed up with my ISP - they contacted Vuma and gave order - Vuma then contacted me the arrange install date.
 
the guy across the road got his install done today , good to see Vuma even working on the public holidays , really pushing to get the stuff done. my Install is for tomorrow afternoon. So fingers crossed when they leave i have a working connection and up and running.
 
I spoke today to Vox, they were handing out Boerewors rolls at Casseldale Spar.
They had a Vox Casebo. Vuma does not work weekends or public holidays. Only contractors do.

I did ask them why does Vuma not update the map at all. I have seen installs in Casseldale and Strubenvale.
His answer was they want all areas live. (meaning Edelweiss, Casseldale and Strubenvale) Then I said but what about Selection Park is live. So go figure.
They handed out Boerewors rolls on Monday and Today. Heritage day.

They wanted me to sign up for Vox.

I received sms for Boerewors roll on Heritage day.:laugh:

Hello every one

They are still testing "Blomme" side of things back to street racks. Should be concluded soon.

Patching of Street racks to feeder racks are still going on. Should also be concluded soon.
Will have a look tomorrow and see progress.
