After 5 months of waiting, I finally received my phone line! Applied for ADSL, lets hope it takes less than the line itself did. Telkom is just way too quick in Fourways.
 
I have a phone line installed already been waiting 2 months now no luck. The one day they tell there waiting for ports, the other day they told me it's completed but when I got home nothing. Last they told me their waiting for a project. I don't think their even sure what's going on.
 
Heh. Ordered my phone line, and it was installed in exactly one week. Ordered ADSL, and waited 5 1/2 months for that. Good luck getting it any faster than that...

Jislaaik 5 MONTHS?! That's insane??
Did you have a line installed in your home that just needed to be hooked up or was this a complete installation with cable and everything?
 
5 months? lucky sonofagun! Please share you secrets with the rest of us, so we too can learn how to get such speedy service. Mine took 9 months - yes 9.
 
shame i really feel for you guys, I applied for a phone line and ADSL at the same time, got them both installed and operational in 5 working days.

Dont know where you guys fell off the wagon :\
 
1) I phoned and ordered
2) next day i got phoned and the person gave me an installation date (4 days later)
3) on that day a techie pitched up and installed alles
4) i bought a modem an there we go...

True - but also remember that people DO win the lottery, people ARE killed by meteorites and the Red Sox may one day win the world series - way out stats do occur from time to time.

well i am glad it was me then :) been a year since i got ADSL and I have only had one problem with my line. It was dead, Phoned in, I sat with the guy on the phone for about 15min and he sorted it all out, well played telkom.
 
It is a new complex, all units were pre-wired by the developer, and the harness was placed about 30cm from the Telkom junction box in front of our gate. It took them 5 months to extend the harness by 30cm and connect it to the board, it must be really a shortage of wiring in world markets. Ah wait, I sell electronics, and I sell wiring too, and I was not effected by any shortages? WTF is going on here?Hehe, Telskum are really an awesome company. At least they now said ADSL should be installed in a week...
