Financial Mistakes

I wish I didnt "invest" in property I wasn't living in.
I know this is different to what others have said in this thread. Out of 3 properties I have had involvement in, all 3 haven't gained much value and are roughly worth what they were purchased for. Maintenance and expenses eat up all the profits.
I'm pro owning your property you live in, but anti additional property.

I live in an entry-level complex with a young demographic. The number of R500k+ cars I see in the parking lot scares me.

Yep! I saw that as well in the entry-level complex I used to live in. Some of the cars were worth more than the flat they were living in

Accepting the massive overdraft the bank approved for me.
In the end it took an entire year's savings (from an investment account) to settle and close the damn thing. No overdraft or credit card since then.

They will insist they can afford it, even when it's clear as daylight they don't. But our economy thrives because of foolish young people buying expensive things.

Invested in Bitcoin and some other crypto in early 2017. Made enough money to be financial secure and not worry about money. But didn't cash out profits before the market crashed so lost almost all my profits. Many sleepless nights and self-pity parties before I got over that.

Made some minor mistakes like investing in crypto about a year ago...
But my biggest mistake by far was getting married in community of property... For those of you that is still not married and intend to marry one day. Don't marry in COP, there are absolutely NO benefits to it... Just don't do it.

Bought a wife, house, 75inch tv and took out a loan, all in one month lol, im not laughing im crying...Kgopela ranta
I bought a wife, house, 75 inch TV. Wife started a fire in my house which destroyed my 75 inch TV. Insurance covers the TV but can't get refund on wife.

Bought crypto and im about 80% down right now. This is money that i could afford to lose so it does not give me any sleepless nights. You only lose when you sell right
1 other mistake i made was not negotiating hard enough when i bought my house. i bought at the asking price as there were other buyers on "waiting list" . I would never know what the lowest price would have been .
