Fires in Australia

Bushfires are obviously cyclical and have nothing to do with climate change, if fires were never needed why do some seeds actually NEED fire to pop out of their pods?

Complete nonsensical statement.
Frequency, area burned and severity matters and it's mostly driven by dry & hot conditions that have been increasing over the past century due to human activities (yes, HUMAN, activities, you don't need to be a crazy foaming at the mouth libtard to know that)...

I have no idea what your statement about seedpods has to do with anything. Not a single serious scientist would disagree that fire is useful and needed in many places... but this kind of change over such a small period can be pretty devastating to fauna and flora that haven't evolved in such conditions.

The simple fact is it's irresponsible to claim this is purely the work of climate change just as it's ignorant to claim it isn't.
All we know is that events like these are predicted to happen more often (and sometimes less often but more extreme).

literally the first result

"Perhaps the most amazing fire adaptation is that some species actually require fire for their seeds to sprout. Some plants, such as the lodgepole pine, ... "

EDIT: Yes some plants require long periods of growth, but others require short periods. Bushfires spread so quickly for a reason. And the reason is not climate change. Frequency is another thing altogether.

So on that pic, the weather dots start in 1910.
Do you have one for the last 5 billion years so we can see if this the climate has changed before?
Maybe change is normal.

And also since you're an expert on climate change. Do you want the current climate to stay this way forever, or do you want to reverse it back to a particular year and then keep it stable?

Good question.... has any genius committee actually defined climate perfection?

Also where do they hide the time machine they use to accurately measure billions of years into the past?

I think they can dig into mountains, glaciers, trees etc to get "an idea" of the past.
But not for the whole planet.

A far as I know they can't tell us how many hurricanes, fires, tornados etc there were in the last 5 billion years.
But some people do blame every natural disaster on climate change.

The best part is those are not even actually annual rings or layers, in some places you can get a good 50 or so in one year.

Not a single paleoclimate or climate scientist would disagree with that statement... in fact, that's their bread and butter, captured in thousands upon thousands of research papers that cover every minute detail from chemistry to geology, palaeontology, physics etc. referencing each other in a massive spiderweb of data and theories that tells the story of what we know and why we know it.

So the questions you need to ask yourself is why then if these people are aware of that fact, is the current temperature rise still of concern?
Could it possibly be that you've missed something or that your argument is lacklustre?
Or do you know something that they don't?

It took no effort to find an article about scientists attempting to graph climate changes over time...

Anyway, this is turning into one of those threads again so I'm tapping out.

I don't have an argument, I'm asking for your argument.

So read my post again and tell me what the plan is. I.E. what do you want the climate to be like and how will you get it there.

You don't get to make ignorant statements then follow them up with irrelevant questions that I'm supposedly obliged to answer while not actually responding to a single point I made.
I'm not your goddamn tutor.

Everyone wants to blame it all on single issue based on their political agenda.
Maybe the stupidity of the wombats on both sides are to blame.
Perhaps unusual weather PLUS lack of controlled burning PLUS Arson... a single one of those factors wouldn't burn aus down, but a combination might.... just a thought.

Ok. So you come in and lecture people about climate change, but you're not a tutor, you don't have an argument and you can't explain what you want.
But anyone who asks you your opinion is ignorant.

Well, I would like climate change reversed to back when the Sahara was an ocean.
This looks awesome.

Don't let sense get in the way of a good story/affirmation of political leanings.

FFS what is wrong with these people.

Fsclk knows, some kind of untreated depression or something.

I don’t know how these people can ever be let loose on society, but they probably will be.
