Learnt a very hard lesson tonight, I was trying to connect this old case front USB ports to a new motherboard, problem is that it was in single wires and after many tries I eventually got it right, problem was I tested it with my 8GB USB 3.0 flash drive and it seems like it's broken/blown the flash drive

So yeah I'm looking for any recommendations seeing that it's a sea of them out there to choose from.

I like the push out design, I hate the cap design, must be 8GB and preferably USB 3.0 I'm looking for speed.

Something like this: http://www.ngrcomputers.co.za/adata-c103-8gb-usb-flash-drive-black-p-65704.html

+1 for ADATA - used a few of their flash drives and they seem just as good as the Kingston's, etc. Haven't had one let me down yet, and have been using many different sizes and models

I have the older C102 model of that 8GB ADATA flash drive and it is still working well.

The only problem that I have with it is that after 2 years of use, I've pushed off the bottom end, which you cannot do with the C103.

Just take note that the write speed of that flashdrive is still quite limited at about 10MB/s (actually less when you're not running benchmarks).
The actual (non benchmark) read speeds are pretty decent when using it with USB 3.

The bigger (16 - 32GB) flash drives do offer better write speeds too. eg. Transcend Jetflash 700 32GB @ R300 incl shipping will give you like 30MB/s write and 70MB/s read. * these speeds are probably also just in benchmarks, but its already better than the ADATA C103.

Update:
On a side note: I've also broken a flash drive and mouse of mine by wiring up my front USB to my firewire header when I was in a hurry to install a CPU cooler :(

NOT a Sandisk Cruzer Blade 16 GB...It has a hardware bug that will lock it in readonly mode. I know because that's what happened to mine :( Only 2 weeks old :(

EDIT: The problem is with the cruzer blade range.
