FNB Fraud!

Feels like not all of the information is given. I have a sneaky suspicion that they have been phished.

What does the transaction references say on the bank statement?

'Old card' was about to expire but still active.
'New card' (card number used by these transactions) was delivered by courier but I haven't opened it yet at the time of the fraudulent transactions.
You are not the OP?

That is @msst
Or did that also get hacked?

Betfred South Africa

Betfred should be able to work with FNB to uncover the phisher.
Chances of that happening are very slim, especially if they pulled the card info from Apple Pay.

Ah... Online gambling. They will be able to see which of their users used that card.

I don't know anything about betting sites but I would think they require all the personal info from the person signing up.

Still think the OP got phished and either is hiding it or does not know they have...or they are the better and lost and now looks for an excuse or put the blame on someone else.

Again, no details...

How do you know it was the new card? What differentiated the old vs new card as far as the transaction is concerned? Did the new card number appear in the InContact notification?

If it was a legitimate SA betting site, then they have strict KYC rules to follow and they will know who the user is.

It turns out, it is the old card.

I downloaded the transaction history. The new card number was on the transaction history. Only then I've opened the 'new card' to see that it is the same card number

Exactly. And it would be very surprising if it turns out that the OP or brother made a few bets, lost and now want to claim they were hacked...

That's what I think too. People screw up and when the fit hits the shan they blame others to try and have their mistake rectified in their favor.
