All these pics with laptops working, I do not believe that work is possible on a 15.6 inch screen. Real work can only be done on a 27" at least. With minimum 1440p resolution.

There is a time and place for everything. For management and productivity stuff it is great to get out of "office".
For everything else:

We will ten to one be asked to go back to the office 2 or 3 days a week. They actually reduced our office space significantly during the lockdown. Ive been working from home since April 2017 (changed companies as well) so driving to work will be something to get used to.

We actually need to get permission from HR to go to the office at the moment

I go in once or twice a week. If I had to go back every day then I'll look for something else.

At the office it's open plan and I'm in a corner without any windows and it's always bloody cold. At home I have a nice big office to myself, a window overlooking the garden, a nice coffee machine etc.

We moved office just before Covid and then the company decided to make the office smaller, so not everybody can fit in the new office, so we will be still working from home for the foreseeable future.

We do go to the office on the odd occasion.

Our company is not going down this road, they do not want to upset the current levels of productivity and the other issue is that our electricity at the building increased 50% (with only the technicians present) so there's a costs argument to that too.

However many are being forced back... bums-on-seats mentality is very prevalent. I can see it in the traffic. Traffic is back to pre-2020 levels.. was a nice 2 year period not having traffic backing up in my street, but its back...

They told me to go back to the office, I went back to the office. I hate it here.

Must look into finding a different job with work from home options.

There are some aspects of my job that need to be done at the office, but that was never a problem during work from home time, would arrange to come in and get it done.

Today is a typical work day, I came in and worked on my PC, I said hi to my boss and co-workers, no face to face communication related to work, and yet they insist we work at the office...
Its the Big Brother mentality at work...

Just go back. Don't get on the radar as "that guy" by giving your boss uphill or being difficult. Listen to words wise with age.

I`ll rather quit than go back to the office. There are many companies now that allow wfh. People should stop behaving like slaves and do the right thing, which is wfh if you can. Screw the micro-manager location controlling boss freaks.
