Fortnite upgrade

Thanks, I'll check it out.

EDIT: Saw it was mined - should I be concerned?

Did he turn on vsync by accident?

Not sure, but thanks - I'll check.

Lose the wifi. It's too sensitive to interference from appliances, electric fences, solar flares, bad moods, humidity atmospheric pressure, phases of the moon, foul language and randomness.

Getting this sorted too. Already have the CAT cable pulled through the roof - will have him on a wired connection by the weekend.

Rgb case and a gaming chair too,

 :p

I tried updating the drivers on the GPU and it's failed twice. He is still on version 13 and the latest seems to be around version 18. Will try and get a slightly earlier version to test, but not sure how to get prior version of drivers. May the Google be strong with me today.

Thank you.

Bought a GPU from @Gtx Gaming - if I have it by the weekend, he'll get to play with the new GPU, if not I'll try and update the drivers using the link you provided.

Spent a bit more than I wanted to, but hopefully it is more robust now.

New specs:

Motherboard:Biostar H61mgv
Ram: 8Gb DDR3 1333
CPU: Core i5 3470
Cooler: Stock
SSD: Samsung EVO 850
HDD: Sata 160Gb
GFX: AMD RX570 4GB
Monitor: Samsung 23"

Forgot to ask your power supply does have 8pin for the card?

And you using none vga connecter? Vga needs active converter

Looks good, If he still runs into lag then it'll be weird.

I'm using DVi at the moment.

Not sure about the 8pin though - the PSU is modular, but some of the cables are missing.

Please still ship - if I run into PSU issues, I'll sort them too.

Are you going to redo the PC and install Windows on the SSD?

Apologies, missed this question, but yes, that is the plan.

Have decided to rather get a new GPU:

Which of these two would be the better buy?

Thanks!

@ponder - I have also not had time to try your driver uninstall software, hopefully this weekend.

Well the faster one is cheaper so the RX 580, but now the question is can your PSU even handle all these upgrades?

RX580 would outperform the 570. If the PSU is modular, it is more likely a premium. 600W would work fine in that (500W recommended for the GPU).

Good point, I forgot he did say modular at some point so it's probably not a cheapy.

Yeah, PSU is a Raidmax 700w - I should be fine. Only issue I might run into is that I don't have the spare cables.

But sure I could get an adaptor of sorts?

the cables aren't hard to find these days.... also old style adapter could work. But I would check the modular outputs on the PSU, usually the GPU ones are higher rated.
