As long as it is clearly stated in the original agreement that the consumer has with his/her service provider, you cannot really argue with it. But very clearly, as per CPA.

I know vumatel started doing it recently. Besides vuma and FF, are there any other FNOs who charge a downgrade fee or you can't say?
I think it's just greed, same way they charge you a hefty price to change ISPs when all they're doing is just moving you from 1 VLAN to another.

Usually, the ISP swollows it and will only charge you if you cancel within 6months.
Can you name one that does?

I know Home Connect does, only charges clawback if cancelled in first year.

What are you talking about - I am on no contract and I received that deal. Unless you mean the clawback if you cancel within 6 months?

it’s month to month and a year on a ISP isn’t that unreasonable or uncommon, they do know once you on the hassle means you’ll stay for a while.
But they don’t claw back anything more than you would pay anyway, so in my mind it’s same same. You stay a year you don’t pay the fee, you leave early you not really getting charged anything over what you would have paid.
Majority of ISPs don’t have a cancellation fee on their month to month just claw back period. Any ISP that would charge a cancellation fee or doesn’t offer month to month I wouldn’t sign up with.

That clawback is the problem.
It's a problem if you move ISPs due to bad service, and the new one is worse. At some point you lose.
EDIT: It also seems not worth it to move for a R120 a month saving. It has to be considerable.

I think it’s fair to say that between google reviews and the MyBB forum there is enough information to find out about almost every ISPs service before signing up.
Yes complains always out of weigh compliment’s because you know people.
But you can see the ISPs response and handling on them most of the time
