On the bright side, our latency has come down to ~12ms since last Monday night and hasn't gone back up again.

I hope I'm not jinxing us here

Latency: 15ms (to Vox Cape Town
Down: 48.6Mbps (50Mb line)
Up: 5.80Mbps (5Mb)

Downloading a torrent again and I am getting 800-odd Kbps at a burst. Streaming seems fine.

Update: Downloading Battlefield Bad Company 2 using Origin (I own the game obviously) and getting 4.53Mbps pretty much constantly, so torrents are definitely being throttled (and I download very little).

Nice. Seems like I'm still on 100/10. Being billed for 100/100 as that was the free upgrade, but going to downgrade back to 100/10. No need for more than 10mb up

Hi Afrihost.
Ordered the Orico CAT6E 3m Network Cable from Takealot, arrived today. Plugged into the router to ONT. Rebooted everything .
speeds still showing as 100mb.
I’m really confused here .
When plugging LAN cable from router to PC or Laptop, does your ethernet status on PC or LAN show 1.0Gbps?
If not then either you have normal 100Mbps LAN on PC/Laptop or the router does not have gigabit LAN ports.

Can you confirm that your router wan port reports 1000Mbps full duplex and not 100.

You have the D-Link right?

The lan port is for the study and not the issue .
speed test via WiFi still shows 100mb

Can you try testing connecting directly to the ONT and see if the speeds are still capped.

Also can you drop me a pm with your clientzone email address again so I can just double check and maybe ask Frogfoot to re-provision the ONT.

hmm there is something that is restricting you to 100mbps. I quickly learned from my experience that it was my router. I switch to a mi router ac2350 and even on WIFI I now get over 200mbps.

The router you mentioned should easily do those speeds. Maybe there is come settings that can be changed ?

Pfft...cranking away at a single torrent download at 18Kbps...but the Apple iTunes download took about 20 seconds!
