Frogfoot Port Elizabeth

Wish they would give us an update.

VOX said "all resolved" I told them bullshit. Their support is useless and you're not allowed to contact FF directly anymore.

If it was resolved as they claim, why didn't they tweet out an update? I really regret signing up with them and I am strongly considering moving to Cool Ideas.

I just got off the phone with a higher-level technician and they seem to think its a problem with Vox's core cloud, he filed a ticket with them, let's hope it gets fixed.

Still up the pole. VOX say the fault is cleared and any customers still affected must "contact support".

GFY Vox.

If it was "cleared" it would be fixed. Which it clearly isn't. As FrogFoot are still showing it as ongoing.

Speed is fine, but the latency is worse than my VDSL line. Web Africa in Newton Park

VOX called to say FF say there is no problem. Said only 2 customers have complained in PE and they need 5 open calls to escalate it further. Pointed them to this thread.

Sometimes I just don't have any words left.

First hop out of PE >40ms. How hard can it be for them to resolve this ?

Worse than my previous 40mbps VDSL line.

But suspect this is FF underlying root cause as multiple ISP's in PE being impacted.

@Frogfoot Fibre are keeping quiet on this - no updates despite calling them out on twitter.

Just checked a client on Vox Business Fibre (FF business backbone) and also 41ms ping to 1.1.1.1

Vox called to say there is damaged hardware on FF in PE and some clients IP has been moved to another routing, impacting latency.

They are pushing FF for an update.

Makes sense as to why some are impacted and not others - luck of the draw if you have been placed in a separate IP pool as a temporary fix.

Confirmed by VOX: FrogFoot node fault, hardware hopefully being replaced tonight, after which routing changes will be reverted back to normal. Temporary routing impacting latency.

Thanks to Eddie @ VOX.
