I'm assuming it is to AWS Frankfurt as I'm also getting 220ms to AWS Frankfurt (whereas at its best it is 170ms). However in my case it is AWS at fault (and not AH) because AH (& most ISPs) makes use of AWS Direct Connect where AWS controls the routing to all AWS servers.

My smokeping indicates that it's mostly Frankfurt (AWS EU Central 1) that we don't get the best routing/latencies for whereas London, Ireland, Paris seem to have the best pings when using AWS direct.

Just tested a non AWS server in Frankfurt and get 180ms (still waiting on FF to fix my 1st hop from 22ms to 11ms so this will then drop to 170ms) confirming that AWS Direct Connect is not routing optimally to AWS Frankfurt. If you want to do some tests yourself try traceroute the following Frankfurt servers: fra-de-ping.vultr.com (non AWS server) and dynamodb.eu-central-1.amazonaws.com (AWS Frankfurt)

Not sure if anyone here has queried this with Amazon before and gotten an answer?

I have had confirmation from FrogFoot that VOX routing to CT has changed to provide better redundancy and capacity but as a result the path has higher latency of 21-22ms vs 11ms which I had for the past year.

Guess I’ll be hunting for a new ISP.

Switch to cool ideas if you want 10ms to CPT and <160ms to London.

If I understand correctly, you are on Frog Foot with Vox.
You now want to move to Cool Ideas. Will you still be using Frog Foot infrastructure?
FF appears to be the common headache of PE issues but with many different ISP's (I am with Afrihost and FF)

In this instance it is how VOX have asked for their routing to be provisioned on the FF network and latency is not prioritized, as I have now confirmed.

Sometimes it’s worse than DSL > 45ms and VOX support will try tell you anything under 50 is normal. Spit.

Some of us value latency and CI also offers a 200/200 package for roughly the same price as VOX’s “pro” 100/100.
 
My ping is about 23ms, but download has dropped to 11Mbps on 20Mbps package...

Took the double deal but only getting 250Mbps from what is now supposed to be 1Gbs
 
I wonder if Summerstrand still has a 100mbit limit on packages, would love to go 1gb for a few months

There was an error on the admin side, and I'm still waiting for them to revert me back to 20/20 speeds instead of 20/2 that I am currently running at
