I think this is a good idea - a dedicated thread to track the downtime, unreliability and "maintenance" issues that happen daily in PE.
Packet loss bad here too , before 11pm last nite had bad packet loss too
Oh WTAF!!! I've worked through the bloody night before doing maintenance on large-scale systems. Hell man, grow a backbone and finish what you started. An entire city's Internet depends on it.
I know about 1 person on vox off , in or near rowallan park.

All the lights on my ONT where on during this 12 hour down time, just the router’s internet light was red. So I’m thinking you have a different problem.
Yeah, that's completely f*cked then. No ways they should be doing this. Not if maintenance had gone as planned for this particular downtime.
This is so beyond laughable. It's an absolute joke. I would say those affected should spread the word and hit HelloPeter with complaints.

I'm pissed off (at myself, my phone and Frogfoot) but it's sort of a funny story so I'll share.
My phone hasn't got an option to only download system updates over Wifi. You will see why this is important in a bit.
I use an MTN SIM with the Afrihost APN, and have an auto-topup active in case I run out of data while using Google Maps as a GPS etc. I have never had to use it, as I'm very frugal with data - 200MB per month max. I have the auto-topup because if I run out of data on the Afrihost APN, I need to reselect the MTN APN, reboot my phone, buy data through the Afrihost App, reselect the Afrihost APN and reboot my phone again. So the auto topup feature is just easier.
On Saturday evening when our internet decided to go off, we went to bed around 23h00 and when I woke up, found that my data was depleted and one auto-topup had gone off my account. As it turns out, the phone decided to download a 1.3GB system update, when I only had 800MB left. It failed, the data depletion triggered a 250MB topup to be automatically added to my account, the update tried running again, and failed due to running out of data again.
Luckily, the topup never actioned a second time, otherwise who knows how many times the update would have reattempted.
Stupid of me to not turn my mobile data off, stupid of me to assume the phone wouldn't download updates when not on WiFi, and stupid of Frogfoot for having us in a state of perpetual maintenance
