Please, point me to those promises?

Also, facts speak for themselves. If 123Net was open an honest with the Paulshof RA, then they would not have lost the support of the RA. But they could not even to that. 123Net is built upon empty promises and lies.
123Net doesn't work with RAs. Somehow you expected they should make an exception here. I don't care if you criticise, just paint everyone with the same brush.

They don't have licenses for Gauteng because Icasa is dragging their feet.

Free internet.

Well if they don't have licences for Gauteng, why did they commit to rolling out? How come all the other infrastructure providers can get the necessary permits, but 123Net can't? Are you saying there is some agenda by ICASA to slow down 123Net? If so, please provide proof.

And also, while you are at it, please share the link where Vumatel promised free internet. As far as I can remember, it was 123Net who promised that, and then quietly removed it without telling anyone.

Where did they commit? I can't find anything on this forum where they committed to providing fibre to Paulshof or Welties. As for Icasa we all know how they can sometimes drag their feet. Other providers were way ahead in acquiring the licenses so it's not necessary for them to wait.

It's in the proposal for Parkhurst.

I am not even going to bother entertaining you. The proof is in the pudding. When 123Net does anything, let me know.

In the meantime, we will leave it up to the big boys like Vumatel, Fibrehoods, Greencom, etc to fill the gap.

Best of luck defending a company that, apparently, can't even defend itself.

Vumatel is rolling out free 1gb Internet to schools... Seems like they're delivering.

And I can confirm they never offered free internet in Blairgowrie.

I hope that's tongue in cheek. Vumatel already reneged on their earlier promise of free internet.

Guys it's quite simple, if you don't mind waiting until the 22nd century for fibre and happen to be masochistic by nature - go with 123net!!
For those living on planet earth ,you know what to do.

What has 123Net really done for any community?

Sorry to the Paulshof guys, for spoiling your thread with this.
My problem is with the double standards clearly on display. Vumatel broke promises yet in your book that is ok and they should get a free pass. 123Net is active in Natal. Yet you expect them to go out of their way to service an area in Gauteng. Now ask Vumatel if they would roll out in Natal. Then see if they can necessarily stay on track and meet your timescale.

Please post link to the broken promise. You keep hampering on it.

Also, what double standard do we apply. There is not option on the VUMA network to even show interest in Durban. The reason we don't expect them to go there, is because they are clear on their limitations. They are open and honest.

On 123Net, they have all areas available to show interest, this creates a false perception, and can be seen as false advertising. If they were open and honest, they would only allow people to show interest in the areas they have licences. Why they did not apply for a national licence is beyond me. The reason people expect them to do it, is because of the way they advertise themselves.

In the end, it comes down to the difference between a professional company, and a mickey mouse operation.

This is ridiculous.

There IS no 123Net. They are just flat-out not an entity that anyone can communicate with. They have not delivered ANYTHING, here or in other communities.

Yet, somehow Vuma compares to that because they only delivered 98% of their initial goals?

C'mon. You're being incredibly petty.

Hi Swa, please can you keep comments regarding 123net on the 123net forum thread or on the thread to discuss the recent article about them?
This thread is for Paulshof's fibre initiative, and we're not considering 123net.

kthxbye!

Do you not mean Lavender Lane instead of Lavender Hill?
