Fuel consumption

Filled up this morning for the week.

2013 Ford Figo 1.4 TDCI

26.65km per litre or 3.75l/100km on the last tank, mixed driving 70% highway (sat in bumper traffic twice for about 10-15km) and 30% urban. Coasting on down hills and max speed 100-110km/h on the highway, trying to keep it under 2500rpm through the gears and on highway.
That is really impressive.

Any issues on your Figo? I see a lot of the first gen Figo's down here with rust on the doors and bootlids, not sure if maybe it's just a coastal thing though.

My bad, I see i got the calc wrong, used the mileage driven divide by fuel price so is showed 26km/l but its actually 24.89km/l which is still fantastic.

So far so good, its a Joburg car so no rust issues, only bought it last month due to going back to the office full time after 4.5 years LOL.

Only issue was the EGR valve was sticking and showing the check engine light but dealership sorted that out and no issues since.

1st tank i got 20km/l average, 2nd tank i did quite a bit of spirited driving and got 17.5km/l average and this last tank i was shocked to see 24.89/l average, i knew it would be 20+ due to eco driving habits but i was surprised this morning when the pump stopped at 24.34 liters to full tank after driving 606km.

Mostly town / traffic driving, this is a monthly overview

60 liters, so around 7L/100km versus the car showing 6.5. This was 90% open road, at the speed limit, only going over when overtaking. 60 km gravel road and a little off roading. Not bad for a big heavy vehicle.

That is really impressive for a big double cab. It's about what my Duster gets, and the Duster is way lighter and has a tiny engine in comparison.

Tbh I really tried to get it down for that tank. It's normal school days from this week on so back to 750 or less on a tank.

Getting close to the '1000 litres fuelled' mark with the Duster

Almost 10 months later and its come down to an overall average of 19.99km/l.

Dont drive the Figo much anymore, i now have a 2011 Citroen C1 as a daily driver that also gets over 20km/l average and its such a fun little car to drive.
