Ahh shyte man. I want to order this tab but I kind of need separate user accounts. Can't we download a later one of sammobile?

In the youtube video the guy says it fixes the lock screen lag as well.

I'm sure one of the more experienced android users will be able to help. I tend not to mess with the firmware unless it's an official update, could possibly screw your warranty. Check the xda forums for updates, there is a thread specifically for the tablet. They've mentioned the update is already available, I think the SA networks are still testing stability etc. I wouldn't hesitate purchasing though because it's one of the best devices I've owned. I'm sure the update will be available soon though.

Unfortunately its not an option for me until it comes out :( No doubt its the best tablet around. I have been toying with the idea of getting a tablet for some time and this one is the first I am willing to commit to.

Maybe give it until the end of January before buying something else, it's well worth the wait.

I'm in the exact same boat but I have constantly been screwed by Samsung's buggy firmware and them promising fixes for it (since my S2) and then it never fully works like it should.

The fact that the S pen is so tightly coupled to the Touchwiz framework makes me wary as I know the UI will lag (which is unacceptable for a flagship device) and therefore I just can't flash an AOSP ROM. The latter is the reason for me now using a HTC device rather than Samsung.

I watched a video earlier and apparently Nova launcher improves performance massively and you still get multi window, air command etc.

Just got my Poetic Slimcase and I am very pleased with it. Worth the wait.
Has magnetic case, so the tablet goes on standby when closed.

I don't really notice a difference In performance because TW will always run in the background(and really, TW has not given me bad lag either) but definitely an improvement in productivity using the tablet. TW has the same problem the iPad has, in that it just blows up the phones UI with certain tweaks here and there. With Nova (pro) you can set the tablet exactly how you want it and use the screen space much better.

The Samsung P5200's case is an exact fit for the Note 2014. I've got case from the china store in Centurion for R150.

If it does fit then it's probably for the note and not the tab. I also tried multiple cases including the body glove for the tab 3 and it was half an inch too small.

I have the body glove made for the note 2014. I'm pretty sure they put the magnet for the sleep/wake function in the wrong place as it only works if I out the tablet the wrong way round (camera whole covered)

Don't know where you would find stock but the Samsung Galaxy store in Clearwater (the one next to vodacom, not the main store) keeps the newest accessories.

Finally got a chance to play with one. Screen and faux leather back are great but the cheap silver plastic around the edges totally ruins it for me. Come on Samsung! This is a top dollar tablet.

The tablet seemed fast enough but definitely not as smooth as my S3. It didn't have the latest update which is meant to drastically improve performance (and add user accounts).

I'm still on the fence :/

Yeah the plastic isnt the best material for the edges, but Im happy I got this tablet.

I saw a video on youtube where a guy connected a keyboard and mouse to the device. I was really impressed by that. It really makes productivity easy on this device mixed with the s-pen. Not sure if any other tablets out there do that as yet. (Probably the surface, but its overpriced and has terrible specs)

I have the P605 and would like to see what performance improvements the update makes.

Picked mine up on Saturday :) Very impressed.

The battery has now run flat.

Does anyone know how long it needs to be charged for initially?

Has anyone also managed to get the Smart Remote to control a DSTV HD2P PVR? It connects to my LG TV and HTS.
