Picked mine up on Saturday :) Very impressed.

The battery has now run flat.

Does anyone know how long it needs to be charged for initially?

Has anyone also managed to get the Smart Remote to control a DSTV HD2P PVR? It connects to my LG TV and HTS.

You just need to charge till it reaches 100% Nothing more than that.

I have only used a dstv remote on my Note 3 for now. It does seem to work properly.

Any ETA on the LTE version ?

The LTE version i.e. P605 is actually available right now. MTN has it (16GB), but its only available on contract. Im not sure of any local suppliers selling the LTE version right now. I came accross several local sites which have the item displayed on their website, but when I email and ask them about stock, they mention that they order it from the supplier once a customer orders it from their site.

I ordered mine from MTN, but cancelling tomorrow. Samsung have just announced PRO versions for their tablet lineup @ CES 2014. Including a 12.2" version.

I personally think the 12.2 is to large. Seen the comparisons and not what I was looking for. Also, I'm all for newer is better, but hopefully a software update will bring us on par with the newly released tablets and the revamped UI. Just hope samsung don't forget their note 10.1 2014

I personally prefer the 10.1 screen size. Its portable enough to carry around and managable to use. Both the 10.1 and 12.2 also have identical specs as well.

Here is a comparison of the tablet sizes below:

Also remember that the pixel density is a bit better on the 10.1 tablet because of the slightly smaller screen. As screen size increases, the less sharper the screen will be. (May not be very noticible though)

I am curious however to see what pricing our local providers mark the device at.

I've seen bodyglove covers at Vodacom shops now. Only have one or two compared to having many more of the others but at least availability is becoming better

Good to see covers being more available now. Some are large and clunky though and dont feel good when holding the tablet. Not to mention the price of some of the covers :(

I went to musica recently and picked up a tablet sleeve/pouch. Its a plain black cover which is meant for 10 inch tablets. The inside is lined with felt which keeps the tablet in top notch condition (Even the edges). It has a zip which allows you to completely zip up the case.

I paid just R150 for this!

The best thing about it is that because its plain black in colour, it looks neat and professional when I carry the tablet to work. Its well protected even when i put the device in my bag.

Its manufactured for all 10 inch tablets so there is a bit of space on the sides.

My RooCase Origami Slim Smart Shell was delivered this morning :D can't wait to get home to set it up. Now I can finally carry my tablet around with me. Will post some pics tonight for anyone who's interested.

Loving the case. Feels like a soft rubbery outside casing similar to the ipad smart case. Fits perfectly and has auto wake up and lock function when opening or closing the cover. One criticism will be that the magnets are not very strong so when holding the case with the front flap facing down it falls open slightly unlocking the screen. I suppose I could switch the auto wake up option off later on if it becomes too much of an issue.

I would also say that I prefer the 10.1 form factor, maybe even the slate size of 11.6 (Windows based).

To be honest, I'd like a dual boot tablet/slate running Android and Windows with an 128GB SSD & 4GB Ram with 10hours battery life.

I don't want a slate and separate tablet.

The RooCase Origami Slim Smart Shell seems really good. How much did it cost you? I can get the original book case for about R550 so wondering what the better option would be

Case looks really smart. I might order one soon. Just a question regarding the part where the tablet fits into. The 4 edges which allow the tablet to clip on..... Do they look like they would scratch the sides of the tablet or erode it over time? I am just concerned about that.

Personally I would take the original case. This case was R481 including shipping from Importitall. Where are you getting the case? That's a damn good price. The original case is a sort of hard plastic case as compared to the rubbery feel of the RooCase apparently. I actually prefer the feel of these types of covers. I just think the original will match up so well with the sleek look of the tablet.

Not at all, corners are smooth all round I would think it should be fine. Will post a pic of the corners close up a bit later for you.

Vodacom called me yesterday to say I qualified for an upgrade. I told them I wanted the P605 tablet (I've been using an iPhone for 4 years). The lady then said they have it but don't have a contract deal for it yet. She'll try to organize a deal and call back.

Anyone on a Vodacom contract with a P605 yet?

First I'm hearing of it, but as I mentioned a bit earlier I saw the accessories for it at a Vodacom so possible that it's near release
