The P605 is faster. Even though the other has 8 cores in total, it's actually 2 sets of quad cores, and only 1 set of quad cores can be active at a time. I read somewhere that the technology is available to use all 8 simultaneously, but this ability was turned off due to overheating problems (so the technology is not stable).

Also, it has been reported that there is some sluggishness when the tab switches from using one set of quad cores to the other. I'm not sure if this gets fixed with the software update (which SA hasn't received yet).

I would like to get the P605 on an 8ta contract, hopefully on that deal that includes 5GB on-net data. I'm currently waiting on an 8ta contact to get back to me.
If that doesn't pan out, then I am strongly considering getting the P605 from MTN on contract. See here: https://www.mtn.co.za/Documents/MTN_Yello_Trader_31Jan.pdf (page 15). The LTE version for R439pm with 2GB pm included data is very attractive.

ps: I wouldn't bother with a 500MB contract for this device - if you're gonna use it fully, you're probably gonna need more than that (in fact, even 1GB is a bit skimpy).

Hi guys, I just have a question to all of you regarding the s-pen nibs/tips.

If I were to buy replacement tips for the s-pen, where could I get them from? Are they available online here or in shops?

I know there are replacement tips included in the box, but unfortunately I had left them on my desk as I was having a look the other day, and they had happened to grow legs and walk away :(

No one has seen or knows what happened to them! Really sucks as it wouldnt be of any use to someone without the tablet.

I would like to have a few handy in case I need to replace my existing one. I use mine a lot to take notes and draw diagrams so I know that I would need to replace it at least twice within the 2 year contract I have.

Any Ideas where I can get original samsung replacements from?

I can't say for sure, but I would start by asking a Samsung store. They should stock replacement styli and therefore possibly also nibs.

I will check again to see if they released any products for the note 2014. I hope they sell the nibs separately and dont make users resort to buying the whole s-pen again. That would really suck.

I can highly recommend this tablet. The P605 has none of the lag issues described in so many reviews. The fast CPU plus the 3GB RAM makes for a fantastic productive experience - smooth fast switching between so many open apps. For me, also using this tablet as a phone has added an extra degree of functionality which integrates communications with all my other tasks. I use my workstation much less now; only for heavy lifting like 3D rendering and huge spreadsheets, etc.

The only negative so far: Android text input seems to lack an undo function - but that has nothing to do with this tablet, which has no cons in my view so far. 5 stars without hesitation!

I was wondering the same thing. I know Telkom won't get it as they don't get the LTE version of any phone, since the LTE capability won't work on their network (the phones don't support TDD @ 2.3Ghz).

However, the Samsung LTE devices/phones tend to be the ones with the Snapdragon processor (faster than the exonys), so that's the version of the device I'd want.
