Game/console collectors thread

Going back to the a OP and the question about trawling Cash Crusaders, my local one is particularly illogical on pricing and tech/gaming items can be very odd. So you can see in this pic the Pokémon Y was R29, and the best find I’ve ever had (bargain wise) was the boxed SoulSilver at the top middle which came complete with an unused Pokewalker that still has the plastic tag between the battery and the contacts. Cost me R39, probably could fetch about R2000 if I wanted to sell it ;)

MOERSE score! Cash Crusaders arent exactly my favourite, but i have found gems, i wont lie

Cash converters tho! damn those people have ZERO idea about what they buy in, and the people selling it to them have NO idea of what they are selling most of the time!

i just hate the stickers they stick on EVERYTHING EVERYWHERE

My local one sells Switches for R2999. They go quick and haven't had for a couple of months though.

They don't always sell the items for its true value. When an item is put on buy-back, the owner has 30 days to collect the item again and pay the outstanding amount that he got for the item.

In case the owner fails to collect and pay, they will sell the item to recover whatever amount was given to the owner.

Example. I bought a R26k laptop a few years ago for R4k. It was the best deal I ever got. The owner borrowed the amount and never came to collect the laptop. I was actually bored and didn't feel like sitting in the office so took a walk outside. I spotted the laptop and checked the specs. I then googled and saw the price it fetches for on TAL. I then ran to the office and withdrew some money from my TFSA to fund the purchase. It's the only time I did that and don't regret it one bit.
