I posted this on reddit and it was pointed out to me that the cartridge doesn't match the case, I bought it like this and found it hilarious. Fun game albeit short.

Its because its 2 different games.

I think the the purists do take it a step too far sometimes. I love the fact that you're playing a Sega Mega drive on a CRT, that's all 13 year old me ever wanted.....

I think that you have a great setup, if you want to add more Sega carts, you get to enjoy them on the actual hardware.

Enjoy

That is the really sad part and why I gone emulation to preserve the history.

My TV's doesn't even have AV or even Old TV antenna ports anymore. Only HDMI, Digital and SAT. and getting a proper CRT is a pain.

Yup, agreed, I have built a Raspberry Pi using a Pi 3B+.
Running retropi in a Retroflag MegaDrive case with 2 controllers.
It's the closest I can come to an actual Mega drive.

I also built a Raspberry pi Zero into a US Spec NES cart with 2 Buffalo SNES controllers.

I spent so much time on the image that it loads as if it were an official "mini" console of sorts.
Splash Screens, Machine specifc borders to help with scale, Box art.....and no save feature, just like the good old days....LoL

the 3DS/2DS is still may favourite way. to play Nintendo games, on the go....I can't bring myself to spend so much on a switch.

I like emulation because of the ability to have so many games available in a single device.

Nintendo games on a 2DS/3DS....just feels right...you can even package your own games once it's been homebred and run games outside of what's available on the Nintendo eShop.

Gone for Pi 4 (8Gig) with Argon one case with 128gb M.2 for batocera + 5TB SATA HD for games with 8bitdo SN30 Pro+ controller. Was eyeing these the other day:
But ended going for a black 8Bitdo Pro 2 instead.

Also have Dobe arcade stick as I prefer Mame games to the 8/16 bit consoles as that is what I grew up with. Not that it stops me from playing some of them.

Nice buy, I've been wanting an 8bitdo for a while but I keep buy Nintendo Handhelds...LoL
I built my mini console before the Pi 4 existed. (I'm happy that there are builds for it now)

I prefer 8Bitdo as they work on the Switch/PC/Pi as well as PS3 and seem to be of a better build quality. Not to mention the customizing and makro options.

I see your point....it's very versatile.

The reason I chose the controllers I did was to create an "authentic" experience.
I haven't loaded any games past the 16 bit Era.
