Gas unavailability ?

I've been struggling to get gas for about a week now.

When contacting henrysgas.co.za they said that they couldn't get gas from Sasol Secunda, and I must say, even Afrox gas has been impossible to get.

I'm talking simple 9kg refills. Builders Warehouse, every Engen, and BP, and Sasol has been out of gas for nearly a week.

Anyone experiencing the same ?
No kidding. Just did the kessel run with 3 garages sold out and 4th one had some bottles left. :cautious:

RRIO Gas - In Blackheath Centre. Tried to find a 9kg bottle the other day - all out of stock (incl. RRIO). RRIO was the only one who offered the delivery, everyone else = try tomorrow. Got it the next morning.

Bonus! Im going to be in that centre tomorrow morning.

I got gas today from a guy I found via Facebook recommendations. He picked up our canister at about 1 and we got it back at about 5

Our 9kg cadac refill was R200 including collection and delivery

Normally one would include like details?

SA imports a lot of LPG, our refineries can't keep up with demand. It's a big reason that the government wants to move from setting LPG maximum prices based on petrol prices to using the Saudi contract price as a basis.

Also, general service notice: LPG has a maximum retail price which changes eaxh month with petrol prices. Please make sure that you don't pay more than that, as some dealers illegally rip people off.

New LPG prices. The shift to Saudi based prices has also now taken effect.

We tried using the guys who deliver to your home for R200 but we found that the gas ran out a LOT quicker.
I don't think those guys are reputable.

Just paid R15 more compared to last week.

I paid R135 to refill a 5kg cylinder recently.
So R27 per kg.

Yup builders in table view was out as well as every Engen between there and Royal Ascot last week. Have to look for gas today again.

I miss Mzansi Gas ordering convenience.. used this when in Gauteng (Jhb, Pta etc) for almost 5yrs. Apparently they may be setting up an affiliate in Cpt over the next yr so now I’m back to going to Builders/Engen.

Don’t forget the basic safety aspects/check ie, seal logo must match bottle logo etc.

Try BP Porterfield road, got 2x19 bottles on Friday

Got it at builders.. forgot they sell handigas? Affrox so no exchange at engen/easygas.

Needed hardware supplies so no issue.

Just weigh it yourself to see it it is the correct quantity.

Edit: question for someone that might know. Can a less reputable distributor fill a canister with another cheaper gas(maybe oxygen)or just air to make weight?
