IPPs should be largely be opened wide up at this point..... Any and all paused projects should be greenlit yesterday. Self generation should be mandated for all companies capable of doing so or willing to invest.

Eskom is responsible for producing power NATIONALLY
Current IPP's are not able to take up the full load
It is all very well individuals having solar or other solutions -- even big companies
BUT
ALL of this is not enough to cover the whole NATION -- upon which the NATIONAL ECONOMY relies
( EVERYTHING is connected -- and not just by "wires" ... )

Thanks Eskom.. I got to test the installation I did mid-December, today, and it worked as per calculation. Even Miles "Tails" Prower would be proud of me.
I am not affected much anymore. Looking forward to the day when I tell you to remove your supply connection completely and tell you to take your account and shove it up your arse.

Guys, don't forget to use electricity sparingly so Eskom gets less revenue so they can argue for a larger price increase.

So Load Shedding will be terminated at 23:00.

Eskom will no doubt have failures again over night pushing up the unplanned outages figure, which is already sitting at a staggering level.

Eskom will then use diesel and hydro, which can cover approximately 3000mw shortfall for less then 24 hours, and bam we will be back to square one.

Added to this, the increase in demand on the grid from tomorrow, as businesses start up again.

It is a vicious circle.

Its not strictly an Eskom conveyer belt, but the lack of redundancy is a concern:

The latest loadshedding was triggered by the failure of a conveyor belt feeding coal from Exxaro’s Grootegeluk mine to the Medupi power station in Lephalale, Limpopo.

The 7km-long coal conveyor belt is supposed to transport 4,000 tons of coal per hour to Medupi. The belt first started giving problems in October
