That's because I haven't decided about it yet. Want to take my whole setup to Outdoorphoto and test the tripods there.

If I get that tomorrow I can hopefully pop in there during the week and decide.

What are your feelings about a Nikon D300 as a backup body for my D7100?

I can pick one up for R5500 with 3 batteries, charger, 2 x 8GB CF cards and a 18-55mm kit lens.

Shutter count is 50'000.
 
I have a Canon 700D... Is the recommended to leave the aspect ratio at 3:2?

Options are:
3:2
4:3
16:9
1:1

Just wondering whats recommended?

Yes.

Afaik if you're shooting raw the files will be saved in 3:2 regardless. By changing aspect ratios in camera you're sacrificing pixels.

Do you have a website, where ( other than referrals) do you get the most work from?

I have so many questions?
Why are SA photographers so stingy with sharing knowledge? :p

I guess because it may take food from their mouths...? :p Dunno......
 
Not all of them are like that.

Some of the well known sports photographers I have the privilege of seeing every week during rugby season have helped me so much and they have never been funny about it. They share their knowledge freely.

bwana on here has always been helpful too.

Perhaps the wedding crowd is a bit different. Don't really know any of them.

I do quite a bit. You can find a lot of info online, and if you have anything specific to ask there a few on here.

I don't think SA photogs are stingy with knowledge at all. Check your local Kiki page on FB, there'll be a lot of photographers there that won't mind helping either.

Sounds good, I use a D300s as a backup for my D7100.

BTW, the D300 is much faster than the D7100, for when you need speed, especially with the grip.

That kit lens is not great, but you are probably getting it for just about nothing.
