Geyser timer solution for solar

38c sounds like you are radiating a lot of heat. Even if I left my geyser powered, it would mabe kick in for 10 to 30 mins late at night to boost temp. I turn mine off at 3pm, we use it that night an it comes on again around 9am or earlier depending on sun. Its more than hot enough, we still add cold water to ours a lot.

Maybe consider geyser blanket? But modern geysers are pretty well insulated. Ours is outside even.
Yeah modern geysers are really nicely insulated, my heat pump normally heats the geyser back up to 55 at around 6pm and by 5am it's down to maybe 52.

Its on 38c after 4 showers and doing the dishes. Geyser is also outdoors on the roof so not sure how long geyser blanket will last.

ah ok I though it was before the showers ( ie: between power cycles, that would be a huge heat loss ) but yeah if it has to refill the cold water will whack that temp.

Today it took about 2h and 15min to switch itself off. Used 5.88 compared to yesterday's 5.62.

Doubt if I will get the geyser hot and battery charged today. Very dark in PTA

200l and 3kw I think
200l size is longer so is fitted with 4kW. 4kW won’t fit inside a 150l so they use 3kW. You can change 4kW for 3kW as the dimensions are shorter but I doubt it would heat 200l in 2 hours.

AI says 3 hours for 4kW to heat from 20-70.

This is my non-essentials. 2 hours on avg and since we were using it this morning, I had it turn on at 5am, it actually hit the dip @ 6.25am and I now the water was used at 6.30 hence the return. Even with the topup/heat it stopped at 7.05. It may be a 150l but I think its larger. I do also think my temp may be set lower to 60 or so.
