So we have a lot of .net domains too and I just noticed Godaddy doing some sketchy shiat

3 .net domains expiring tomorrow 3 different prices per year??

1 domain.net is R97 1 year renewal

other domain.net R207 1 year renewal

0ther domain.net R148 1 year renewal

Has anybody experienced the same?

some domains attract a higher price than others, shorter domains = more expensive
anotherbadcompany.net/com could be R99
and
ABC.net/com could be R299

That's prices on the resale market. But if you've already registered your domain, the annual registrar renewal cost should be fixed and the same for all domains with the same registrar.

Move to namecheap immediately, they usually have discount coupons on their site for moving the domains to them and you get 1 year renewal with the move.

Such BS and this is domain renewals hey like domains well over 10 years old.

I will most certainly not advise anyone to use them.

Our .co.za is with domains.co.za well we are moving them over in batches as renewals comes up such a pleasant company!!

I will look into namecheap for our .com .net and .ng domains Godaddy is just a big pile of excrement

We use Frikkadel.co.za for all our domains - .coms and .co.za's. Good price and excellent service! They're having a special on .net now for R88.20!

Not sure I would entrust the amount of domains we have with a company called "Frikkadel" unfortunately.

An yet you trusted it with a company called "GoDaddy"?

Do you honestly want to do this Âż

Just say yes please I beg you then I will show you an in depth comparison of what you are saying.

Just make perfectly sure you want that can-o-humiliation opened.

I'd be interested in a mature discussion about your views on the matter yes.

Not interested in mudslinging. Make a decent argument or keep it to yourself.

Not interested in mud sliding either.

Here is my view:

Founded in 1997 GoDaddy is a publicly traded Internet domain registrar and web hosting company. As of 2014, GoDaddy was said to have had more than 59 million domain names under management, making it the world's largest ICANN-accredited registrar.

Frikedel, well before today I have never heard of them and can't find much about them either regarding size up time etc etc they just don't strike me as a place I will compare to a Company with over 59 million domain names.

Jirretjie, julle is touchie ne? I was trying to lighten the mood, but I will try to be more uptight in future...

Why not have a look at Amazon Route53? https://console.aws.amazon.com/route53/home?#DomainRegistration
Worth it if you have other services at Amazon

Not meant like that just getting tired of having to justify a difference between a Public listed company being more a go to option than a company named after a food that's all.

Route 53 is a viable options most definitely

I think you misinterpreted my comment.

From this statement it seems that you wouldn't deal with Frikkadel, because of it's name. I merely pointed out that if that's the only criteria, then the same should hold for a company called GoDaddy.

True. My apologies. I think I was a bit off a d1ck there to be honest. I will blame it on work related stress and immature online vent/rant.

Frikkadel actually looks pretty decent
