R10k in cash?
Correct, the contract on offer is the following:

For R999-00

1. 5000 minutes
2. 5000 SMS
3. 10 gigs data
4. R10 000 in a debit card for either to buy you out of current contract or whatever you want to use it for.
5. OOB is 15 cents per Meg

Mine was a little more as I wanted a new phone - So for R1240 I got the Samsung S7 and a Samung J2

Very sweet deal and a no brainer where you have use for all that inclusive voice+data.

That extra amount for the S7, well worthy too.

Enjoy spending that 10k - Buy some furry gift for Ockie, as a token of appreciation. :D

Also going to be leaving VC at the end of the year. Been with them for 10 years, but lately i cannot stand the poor service anymore. If you go to a shop and query anything at all you are looked at like you are a lepper. It feels like you are disturbing the employees and it is best to keep your questions for yourself.

The excuses of being on an older system and systems being down, or told a branch has stock and when you drive there they have no idea what you are talking about, or never ever having stock or any rough idea of when a device or something will be available is just too much.

I am really not sure if other operators are way better, but it cannot be worse. And come to think of it, i do have lots of dropped calls too... Oh and 250MB data packages??? Really, how can this be your standard in 2016.

Anyways, will be looking at other options as well come December.

I logged a query with Vodacom 6 months ago that iPhone 6 only gets 3g, even when holding next to another phone that's on 4g or LTE. Feedback I got was it's my phone and not their problem.

Well my contract is coming to an end next month and moving to Telkom - So Thanks Vodacom, now I will never be your "problem" again...

20 years of giving money to one company? No wonder Vodacom is so arrogant.

When did number porting become a reality? Factor that.

Besides, more choices are now to be had, their arrogance will come to an end - MTN beginning to show their
cracks.

Eish.. looking to make the move but to Telkom.
Anyone here done the same?
No complaints on their network. No OOB. they stop and then ask you what to do... purchase bundle, go OOB or stop data.

Their service isn't great though. But solid no hassles network quality and great value.

Number porting has been a thing for 10 years now. Options have always been there. People are just content with Vodacom, I think.

What part of the service isn't great? Signal?

Their people service isn't great, to do 90% of things you have to go in store. They hardly have stock of popular devices, for upgrades you need statements and payslips and and every time.
Earlier this year I actually ended up canceling two contracts with TM, one due to waiting 3 months for any device that wasn't a Huawei p8 lite and having to go with all my documents to store to check the upgrade.
The second was a few months later and pretty much the same situation. Months later and they still hadn't replaced their stock.
On prepaid though they are pretty cool.

Yup.

Every interaction ends in a mission. I will add about 75% of my interactions relates to ADSL. But have had issues witw mobile too.

That being said... network is great, where they dont have coverage, they roam on MTN. Anyone will have a hard time convincing me that they are not the best value for money network if you can stomach the customer service efforts.

Been with CellC for a long time now.

Of course there was some hiccups, but in general I cannot complain. Some times I try to call my wife (also on CellC) then get told her number doesn't exist. But it is seldom that this happens.

The only time I complain and moan is when I go out to the boondocks and the signal drops down to EDGE/GPRS - sometimes it works, sometimes it is just useless. But it is very seldom that I have to endure that.

I definitely can rave about their data prices. I went OOB once, but it was a trifling amount (R60 something I think).

I have a Telkom Mobile SIM for internet connectivity at the house, it works fine. If the ooklets drain the data, they won't go OOB by accident.
